my great grandmother was Elizabeth Hannah Corry b. 1848 to James Corry and Hannah Farthing in Lovington, Somerset
She married ( J. G. Roberts) in Somerset in 1877 and moved with hubby and nine children to Manitoba Canada 1893..

no "Robert" used in their nine chidren but then again...a Robert Roberts maybe wasn't their cup of tea!

we'll hopefully hook up at some time..

My Corry family came mostly from South Petherton , Henstridge, Over Compton, Nether Compton, Sherborne.

I have one (so far) who came from queen camel - Robert b; c1780

Such an unusual name - I am sure there must be a link somewhere. My grandmothers maiden name was Corry.

Nora Corry, Co. Clare Ireland

I'm looking for information on Nora (perhaps also Norah or Honora) Corry who married Timothy "Danny" Eustace. She was born about 1908 and died 20 May 1980 in Ireland. I have connected with people on the Eustace side but have found little to no information on the Corry side. These two links below may be the family i'm looking for. I would love to connect with people from this family line or even obtain information from someone who can look this information up for me. Unfortunately this side of family is kind of a thorn in my side because I haven't been able to find much info. If you're able to confirm this family or at least get me started in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. I have some documents and pictures related to this person and I would be happy to share them with you. The uploaded pic is of Danny and Nora (front) and Danny's sister, Bridget, in the back.

Colonel Corry of the French and Indian War (British Army), York PA area about 1780

Looking for any and all info about Colonel Corry (British Army) who served in the French and Indian War in the Colonies. His wife's maiden name was Kepplinger. His wife's sister's married names were (1)Catharine Newans and (2) Mrs. Macelvaine. Presumably they all were living in the York Pennsylvania area about 1780.

I know of 4 brothers all born in the county, but I have no info on parents. They later moved to Dublin City, where Thomas was a grocer and possibly alderman. The other brothers were also politicians:

My Corry line immigrated to Michigan in the United States in the middle 1800's. However... There is a lot of similarity in the names. My family had a John, George, Andrew, Newcomen, and Cope Corry-- All brothers, and all immigrated to Michigan. There seems, at least in my tree, to be a lot of name repetition. If your ancestors are from the same area, and have the same last name, there is a chance that they are related somehow... possibly cousins, or something. I am very interested! I have a John Corry who was a coachman and I believe came from the area you mentioned to England. He had a son, George circa 1836 but I have no information on any other children. It is a bit vague, but if any of this links with your research, please contact me. I have quite a bit on George's marriage, children and descendants.

Do you have any more on their son, George? If so, where and when was he born. My George was born around 1836 near Canterbury, Kent. His father was John. I think this could be the same Corry line with the common ancestors being William and isabella Corry.One of their sons was Alexander (B1821) which matches my Grandfathers date of birth. His wife was Martha Gibson (b 1835).This could be a second wife although I have no wedding date. Chris, where did you find the information about Anne Irvine?

This could still be the same Corry family as ours Mez. I only know of 3 children our William and Isabella had. Alexander, Samuel, and William. And the date for Alexander fits. Although I have him marrying an Anne Irvine in 1846, she might have been a first or second wife. I don't have any children for Alexander though.

Hello Alec, I am Mez, writing for my husband Greg whose grandfather was Henry Overend CORRY b.13 Jan 1875 in Six Mile Cross Co. Tyrone. Henry's parents (Greg's gr-grandparents) are Samuel CORRY b. 15 Mar 1824 in Six Mile Cross, and Eliza Jane KELLY b. 16 Jun 1828. Samuel's parents and Greg's gr-gr-grandparents are William CORRY b. 1795 , and Isabella McMASTER. I think we are different Corrys.
Henry Corry was the youngest of 10, the others being: William (MD) b. 1850 m. Lydia MEAKIN

I have been doing family research and have just discovered this web site. My great great grandparents were William and Isabella Corry. My great grandparents were Alexander (b.1821)and Martha Gibson (b.1836). Looks as if my grandfather Samuel and your grandfather William were brothers.I do know from my father that your grandfather William and his brother John went to the US.There were 8 children in the family. John (went to US, Bella Jane, Eliza Ann, William (went to US), Alexander (went to Australia), James Gibson (went to Australia), Samuel(my grandfather) and Elizabeth. If anyone has more information on William and Isabella Corry it would be much appreciated.

I did not know for 30 years that Chub's real name was Wilbur. My mother was Ruth Justine Corry. She married my dad Marvin Harrison in 1943. Judy and Lynn were 2 of the girls of Chub's family. Evelyn was his wife. My mom was close to her brother Chub. Their mother was Catherine Werley who died on 10/25/1918 in Cincinnati. Grandpa Corry was Charles Anthony Corry. I do not live in Cincinnati anymore I relocated to Michigan in 1972. I still have some cousins left.

My Grandpa Heyborn's Grandpa is George Corry. Heyborns Dad is Hyrum Corry. Heyborn was born in 1903. Hyrum was born in 1852. It's a small world. Have you heard of a Howard Corry he was a scribe for Joseph Smith, Joseph and Howard got wrestling one day and Joseph broke Howard's leg and carried him to his house and Joseph gave him a blessing. I'm not really sure of the spelling of the last name but just wondering. Thanks in advance for any information.

Hi my Grandfather was called William Corry and he was the Nephew of Samuel Corry. Samuel Corry's Mother and father were called William Corry & Isabella McMaster. His occupation was Farming. As far as I know Samuel had two brothers, Alexander born 1821 & my great grandfather who was also called William born 1839 died 1930. I Have visited Samual Corry's grave which is located at Sixmile Cross, Church of Ireland Church

Do you or any of your relatives have any photos of George Corry, childhood, growing up or especially from 1906-1911?

I'm also looking for anything else related to sailing especially the Star Class.

BTW, I was just at the cemetery at the Zion Episcopal Church in Douglaston, NY the other day looking for the graves of a couple of my relatives when I came across the Corry family plot there. I had seen George and Mary's grave's there previously, but there's a larger plot near theirs with your great grandparents, great great grandmother, Charles HP Corry and his wife and a few others.

Hello, not sure about Ballywattick, never heard of it, but I and my Corry ancestors hail from Ballywalter, on the Ards Peninsula, about 20 miles from Belfast if thats any help to you? My grandfather also had aunts and uncles nearer to Belfast.
