Hi Lydia,

Where are your Cosme's from in PR? What about your Santiago's? Do you have anyone named Vidal Cosme in your family. Do any of the Cosme's have blue eyes?

I know there is a connection between Cosme/Santiago/Reyes families but I haven't found it yet.

Hi Daniel,
It appears you may be a cousin. I had an uncle Jesus
but I do not remember him, I'm not sure I ever met him. I do remember Uncle valentin, Aunt Carmen and Uncle Teo or Tello (real name EULETERIO)and uncle Juan. My father Alberto was also called titi by some others in the family.

I don't have anything further but if you have any info on Aunt Carmen I'd be interested in knowing the where abouts of her daughters Cookie & Francie.

My name is Jose Luis Rojas Cosme. I was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico. My mother's side of the family is of surname Cosme. My grandfather was Adelicio Cosme and he was married to Tiburcia Oquendo. My mother's name is Dora Luz Cosme. I believe she was one of twelve. Two of which died ether at birth or shortly there after. I do not know much more about the family except that they are all still in Puerto Rico. None of them ever left the island. If any of this information is of any value to anyone, please let me know. I would love to hunt down some more information and if anyone has any information to share about any of these people, by all means please contact me and let me know. We may be related.. My grandfathers' brother was named Jesus Cosme and he had a son named Daniel.. an engineer (who back then lived in Bayamon) but tio Jesus lived and passed away in Naranjito. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar..

Hello Sylvia..

I found your message very interesting.. My grandfather was from Comerio. His name was Alberto Cosme Rivera and we always visited many houses in a sector of Comerio called "El Higuero". He always used to tell me that we were related to everyone in this sector.. that the entire sector was either Cosme or had a branch in the Cosme tree.

If you ever visit Comerio.. stop by the Higuero and ask around about the elders who still live there. You might find alot of information you are looking for.

My great-grandfather Jose Antonio Cosme recently passed and i was very close to him and i was hoping to find any of his family heres some info on him:

-came to new york i believe in the 1940s or 50s not 100% sure
- father was ramon cosme
-mother last name was Lopez
-born and raised in naranjito, puerto rico[in may of 1925]
-i know he has 8 siblings or more
some named angelina & marco

My grandfather left Puerto Rico for Hawaii around 1901. There is a question whether his name is Vicente Cosme, Vicente Cozme, Vicente Gomez or Vicente Gomes. My husband's mom's name is Secundina Cosme she was born in PR in 1941. She has (had) three brothers and one sister (that were aware of) we have been trying to track down family and information. Him and his four sistersand were all born in Connecticute, they also lived in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island and then in Florida. hello there to all my fellow cosme's. my grand father was born in the early 1900's as salvador cosme in the philippines. i was stationed in the us navy with a puerto rican guy who had told me that cosme was a common last name there.

Carnation cosme is my great grandmother she is the mother of my grandmother lucy rodrigues of hawaii, lucy lived in maui or kaui later moved to honolulu, hawaii lucy died feb 1999 in honolulu,hawaii. her fathers name was maunel rodrigues born in hawaii, this is from her social security ss-5 form when she applied of a number I miss place the information on the exact island she was born. lucy had children from juan martines dela cruz. My father lives in waianae, hawaii on oahu.
I know that carnation was married also to juan martines dela cruz. juan was the step-father of my grandmother lucy.

Cosme, but also Cruz Cosme & Martinez Correa

My grandmother, Modesta Cruz Cosme, came from a family of 5 children: Lupe, Luciano, (Modesta was the middle one), Secundina and Felipe. Modesta was born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico in 1893, so I would imagine the older ones were born somewhere between 1880 and 1892 and the younger ones from 1894 to 1900. I did not discover any relative named Juan Cosme, when I asked my aunt (who knows what little there is of the family history).

Severo (Correa) Martinez from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, was the father of two of her children: Vicenta and Ramonita (my mother) Martinez Cruz. Modesta had three other children: Miguel Angel, Carmen Maria and Luz Maria (all born before 1928).

Does anyone have any information about the Martinez Correa family of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico? Severo's mother's surname was Martinez and his father's was Correa. Severo and his two brothers, Jose and Aureliano took the surname Martinez but their sister called herself Josefa Correa.

Hi William, I don't know if there is a connection but my grandmother's name was Juana Cosme (maiden name Rivera). She was born in Naranjito P.R. in 1875 and married Mateo Cosme. Her parents were Juan Rivera and Petrona Alicea. If you think there is a connection please let me know.
