Vincent J. Costanza
RICHFIELD SPRINGS — Vincent J. Costanza, 69, of Taylor Road in the town of Exeter, died early Saturday morning, Feb. 27, 1999, at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
He was born on May 30, 1929, in Albany, a son of Joseph and Rose (LaPonte) Costanza. He married Shirley Bristol on Dec. 1, 1988, in Amsterdam.
Vince was raised in Albany and later moved to Schenectady as a teen-ager. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the armed forces and served during the Korean Conflict. Upon his discharge he returned to Rotterdam, where he began his career as a carpenter. He spent many years working in the Schenectady area doing fine carpentry work, moving to the Richfield SPRINGS area in 1991.
He was a devoted member of Cooperstown Assembly of God and enjoyed fishing, especially at trout streams in Vermont.
Vince is survived by his wife of 10 years, Shirley of Richfield Springs; his first wife, Patricia Duci of Schenectady; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary and Patricia Costanza of Rotterdam, Jeff and Christine Costanza of Richfield SPRINGS, Connie Costanza of Oneonta and Brian Costanza of Schenectady; eight grandchildren; and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at the Cooperstown Assembly of God, with the Rev. Ameen Aswad, pastor, officiating.
Expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial donations may be made to the Cooperstown Assembly of God, P.O. Box 550, Cooperstown, N.Y. 13326-0550.
Arrangements ae under the direction of the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown.
