I found the following info on a Joe. Now I have to wonder if they were related to my Costanza's and no one knew about it or because my great grandfather Costanza died shortly after arriving, the famly connection was just lost. When the family arrived in Ellis Island in Dec.1889, they stated they were traveling to LA to brother-in-law. I can't make out the actual first name or place.

This Joe would be about right age for Irene. It's such a touchy subject. I'm interested to know, but don't want to
step on toes or spring any surprises.

I was once told that my great grandmother Tantillo was related to the Tantillo who had either triplets or quad boys. In TX? Do you know anything about them?

I live in Moab Utah. Dad's family went from Port Arthur area to Midland TX area. With Durso's & Cappadonna's staying in each area. Grandpa Costanza was raised a Durso
and took back Costanza name as a young adult.

I don't think I am related to Rosaria. I was helping a another Tantillo and saw your query and decided to help. Are you in Texas? Joe Costanza's daughter was Beverly Jo Costanza.Her m. Irene Buckley m. Julian L.Gonzales and had another dau Nancy Lynn Gonzales. I believe Irene died in 1996. Beverly m. Richard Dale McCallum. Going down the list I located what I am pretty sure is Nancy Lynn Gonzales dau. Casey Lynn Churchwell in Plano TX 972-403-1805. tried to check for Beverly McCallum and didn't find her or her children must have moved out of state. Mary Ann Tantillo

Thanks for the info. I've never pursued this lead because I always thought the child was a boy and wasn't born in Jefferson county. Plus, I never knew my dad to go by Joe.
Also, I assumed that this couple was married. These many years later, I now know better than assume. I will try & pursue this more.

Are you related to Rosaria Tantillo Costanza Durso? I believe she had some brothers but don't know their names. If this is your family I would love to add more of the Tantillo info to my tree. Willing to share.

Rosaria arrived in the states with a husband a one yr old & a three yr old. Traveled from NY to LA. Became pregnant, husband died, remarried and had a child all in about a 14 month time span.

This is correct, even though, Frank is listed as a girl and Henry is listed as Pietro.

HI, I never did find much on Rosario, I don't think his parent came over, well at least not on the same boat he did.
I found his children, he had a daughter named Anna, she is now in her 80s, and a son told my father in law that he remembers Rosario going to FL. to work and that is the last they saw of him, all the children were in foster homes except for my father in law who was adopted.

Hello.. I wonder if we have a connection. My grat grandmother was born Maria Costanza (1896) in NY her family came from Italy though I am not sure from which part, her mom's name Anna Costanza - she did have a sister Josephine... My great grandmother died very young in 1930

I've wondered if we are related. If you look at the manifest it states Guiseppe did not embark. Although it kind of looks like it belongs to someone else, also.
Do you know for sure they both landed in the states?
Are you sure they are brothers? Did your grandfather talk about any other relatives? They could be cousins or even not related. Why are they going to different places? I would be happy to share what little Costanza info I have. Thanks for answering.

My Grandfather's name was Rosaria, however, he used the name Charles. He was originally from Vilafrati, Italy. He was born around 1884. Family has lost contact years ago and we are researching everyone and anything that is vaguely familiar.

I just finished reading your inquiry. My grandfather Rosario Costanza arrived in New York (via Ellis Island) in 1906. He came here with his brother, Guiseppe, from Villafrati. Rosario was born 1884 and Guiseppe was born 1888. I wonder if they are some how related.

Before my dads death he said he had a son b in TX abt 1942. My dad was an only child.
He graduated 1941in Port Arthur. He said he rec'd a letter saying he had a son about one yr old
& that the mother had found someone who loved them both. Dad was in the Army / Airforce at the time. Dad went by Jim or Joseph Frank.
His next child was not born until 1952.

Trying to find someone who may be related to Giuseppe COSTANZA b 1864, Villafarti Sicily & Rosaria Tantillo Costanza b 1874, Villafarti.
They arrived in NY Dec. 1898, with two sons, Frank (3)& Pieto (1) (Henry). Giuseppe died in LA in 1898. Rosaria married Durso in 1898.
I have always hoped some Costanza relative came to states later or maybe was already here but due to death of Giuseppe lost contact with family.

There is most likely no link here, but I am desperate,so I thought I would give it a shot.

I am looking for anyone who might know of a Rosario Costanza,came to U.S. in early 1900's.
All I know of his parents is his Fathers name was Jakano or Jahiro Costanza and his Mothers name was Anna Liberli.
I found a bit of info saying his next of kin was Josephine Costanza of Palermo,Sicilly. Which is where he boarded the ship to America.

He was b. in 1884 in Villafratti,Sicilly
Parents were Jakano or JahiroCostanza and mother was Anna Liberli.

Rosario arrived in N.Y. in1906, ship manifest says he has cousins in Altoona PA.

He married Ruth Moore in 1922 in either Ohio or PA.
They had 4 children who were put into foster care or adopted,Rosario was in Atlantic City, NJ around late 1920's or early 30's. for work. He was a laborer.

He and Ruth must have parted ways at some time as the children do not know what happened to him or where he died.

Would like to find any info about him, wheather he remarried at sometime or had other children,

He sometimes used the name Charles Costanza.

Was in Atlantic city for sometime,and lost contact,
Have heard recently that he may have went to FL for work he was a laborer.
He may have also remarried and was known to use the name Charles instead of Rosario.

Searching for anyone who might know where Rosario Costanza ( may have also used the name Charles) ended up?He arrived in the U.S. in1906 from Vilafratti,Sicily, went to Penn.Married Ruth Moore in1921,he went to Atlantic City in mid 20's for work.May have stayed with a Wilson Taylor. Can find nothing of him after a couple of letters from A.C. I would like to know if he died , remarried, anything.

My grandfather was Charles Costanzo, the youngest brother of Nick Costanzo who married Mary Costanzo. I have done extensive geneaology searches for the past 15 years and have pretty much charted out Nick and Mary Costanzo's life in Manhatten NY & Lakewood NJ. Very frequently their name is listed as Costanza. Therefore I wonder of this is the Mary Costanza you are looking for. Nick & Charles had 11 or 12 brothers and sisters but we know of only 5. I am searching for a Pietro Costanzo from Calibria, Italy.
Brother's names were Pasquale and Antonio Costanzo.
All migrated to US in the early 1900's.
The brothers Pascal and Tony settled in Middlesboro, KY.
Oral history has it that Pietro was a crippled.
Any information would be appreciated.

I am also looking for an august costanza, he was from Hoboken, NJ and was my mother's brother. I am trying to find someone who might be related to him. As I am trying to search for some of my mothers relatives. I never knew her. She died in 1949. Maybe you might have something that may help me.
My mothers name was Helen Costanza (Ambrose) and she had a sister Louise.

I hope that you can help me. I am doing research on my grandfather. He lived in New Jersey and Died in Newark around 1950. I also know he came over from Italy and I know the name of the small village he was from. I know some of his children were Rose, Angelo, one called Blackie and Joe...though there were more children. He left New Jersey and came to Hudson NY (owned different restaurants), where he met my grandmother Alda Eisner and they had a child, my mother. I do know that when he became ill his daughter Rose came and took him back to NJ......my mom was around 3 when he passed and she recalls going to his funeral in Newark. I know nothing of my grandfather and I have never seen a picture. I am not sure if the info you gave is of the same family.

Ippolito Bisceglia, age 22, married Rosa DeLorenzo, age 20, on 25 Oct 1888 in Aprigliano. Ippolito's parents were Francesco Bisceglia and Rosa Amendola. Rosa's parents were Demetrio DeLorenzo and Carolina DeRenzo.

This is probably not a direct connection, but may possible be a close one. My great grandfather, Giuseppe Costanza immigrated to the US form Alia, Sicily, on Oct 24, 1894. He entered at the port of New Orleans LA and settled in Hammond LA. He was married to Maria Theresa Mancuso, also from Alia. They had 10 or 11 children, one of which was my grandmother, Giuseppa Maria Costanza. She married Calogero Latino, my grandfather. They both died in Hammond LA.

i am searching for all information on all relatives of Mary Mendola Costanza and her husband, Joseph.
Mary was born 8.2.1892 in New Orleans, La., she died 10.11.1987 in New Jersey.
her parents were Cosima Catalano Mendola and Castrenzo Mendola, both from Alia, Italy
She was raised in Charleroi, Pa. and Donora, Pa.
She was one of many children:
two stepsisters: Ignazia Mendola Zanghi of Italy, Francis DiAntonio of Pa., three brothers: Tom, Ben, and Joseph Mendola, and her sisters: Marie DiEmidio, Josephine Mendola, Angel Mendola, Ann Morabito, Grace Serrino, Nettie Doptis, and Christine Hayduk.
She had five children: Josie Pisano, Carrie Makitra, Chris Costanza, Marie Norelli, and Peter Costanza. Josie, Carrie, and Chris are deceased.

How did you come to the Costanza message board to post something on the surnmae Doptis? Just curious.
Nettie Mendola Doptis was my great aunt. She was born in 1909 and died in 1994. She was born and raised in the steel communities of Charleroi and Donora, Pa., one of 11 siblings.
She attended California Normal College and became a special education teacher. She lived in Long Beach, California for some time.

She was married for a brief time to Tommy Doptis. I dont much about him. He was from the neighboring town of Charleroi and was employed by Corning Glass Works. He had also served in the Navy. He convinved her to move to Ca., which they did.
After two unsuccessful; business ventures, ho divorced her.
Sidenote: Aunt Nettie was baptized Josephine and was Italian by Heritage. However, she chose the name Nettie to sound a little more American.

P.S. If you look on ancestry.com, they have a search engine for the Master Death File via SSDI - I believe a Tommy Doptis is listed. If he is the one that was married to my Aunt Nettie,he would have been quite a bit younger than her.

Looking for info on Ruth Costanza(m.surname),do not know her husbands name, only that he might have been on the wrong side of the law. They had three to four children(one is my father in law) is birth name was Paul Costanza.

Trying to find out info about a Ruth Costanza ,she would be in her 90's if still living.I don't know her husbands first name,only that she had three to four children, and for some reason had to give them up for adoption. One of the children (my fatherinlaw) given name is Paul Costanza,he would like to find any living relatives. I have read somewhere that her husband ran on the wrong side of the law.This would have been in the 1930's.Maybe this is the reason she had to give her children up. All of this happened in Pittsburg Penn.

Melinda, my grandfather was Joseph Costanza & his wife was Mary Theresa Mancuso from Alia, Italy. I don't think we are related. Joseph died in 1947 and is burried in Hammond, Louisiana. He had one brother Russell that is burried in Alia. If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know. Dominic.

Michael, I have no idea how we're going to figure out this link, but I know my dad is one of 12 (?). Half the family kept the name Costanzo & the other half changed it to Costanza. Many of us are in NY. Don't know if that closes in the gap for you or not, but I thought I'd tell you.

Hi. Just for a goof, I thought I'd breeze through this message board, when I saw "Augie". That's my dad's name. He's 74 years old, but that would've made him only 16 if your parents were married in 1942. But, he did live in the Bronx a long time ago. I don't want to get your hopes up just in case, but I thought I'd post a reply because...well, you never know!

My wife's father was Louis Costanza. His siblings are Josephine, Russell, Katie, Mary, Rose, Sam, Lena and Angelo. The only one living is Rose from Dallas, Texas. Contact me so we can exchange info.
