I am not a Costanzo. I am doing family research for a friend of mine, who is Dennis Costanzo. They have the following information:

Frank Costanzo (5/18/1880-9/22/1958) was born in Fiumefreddo. He married Pietrina Vassalo (7/23/1885-5/1/1959) in 1906. They immigrated to America in 1905. They had the following children: Angelina, Michael, Josephine, Nancy, Sontore, Marie Concetta, Salvatore (Sam), Molly Mary, William, Lucy and Valentino (Dean).

This sounds like it may also be your family. I have a little more information on them if you do. Please respond in English, thank you. Good Luck in your search.
Curtis L. Tobin Sr.
Chittenango, NY, USA

Hi Cora-Lee

I just came across your message from Mar 2000. A bit late but here goes. My father was Frank Costanzo, the youngest of the costanzo brothers. I remember "Uncle" Tony very well as him and his wife (Mary) lived with us for a time when she was ill. I used to go to Fernie every year for vacation with my parents and stayed in the house where Christie lived. I know some of the history and you are right when u said that no one would talk about "Aunt" Florence. I wasn't told about her until I was in my 20's. Contact me if u want more info.

Elaina
emonette@phsa.ca

Revisions - Looking for Filippo "Philip" Costanzo and Marie Palmisano Costanzo

My grandfather was Pietro (Pete) Costanzo. He immigrated to the US in 1907. His father was Giuseppe Costanzo and his mother was Maria Giovanna Anania Costanzo. His brother, Filippo (Phillip), immigrated in 1910, and his sister Concetta Costanzo Futino in 1922. Concetta's husband was Francesco (Frank) Futino, also from Bianchi. A sister, Michelina Costanzo Bianco stayed behind in Bianchi. They came thru Ellis Island, and lived in New York, Hagerstown, MD, Baltimore, MD, and Washington, D.C. Concetta and Frank Futino returned to Italy about 1935. Concetta died in Bianchi in 1936. Frank Futino remarried in Bianchi.

Philip Costanzo married Marie C. Palmisano in Baltimore April 1928. They lived in Washington, D.C. up until about 1938. It is believed Philip died around 1938, but I cannot find an obituary or any information about where he died and is buried, or whatever happened to Marie Costanzo.

Both Phillip and Frank served in the US Military in the Baltimore area from 1918-1919. My grandfather, Pete Costanzo, and my grandmother, Mary Louise Boward Lowdan Costanzo, ran a grocery store in Washington, D.C. from about 1930 until his death in 1951. My grandmother, Mary Boward, was from Hagerstown, MD. She passed away in 1943.

Please contact me if you have any information to share on my family. Contact me at dmcshaw@hughes.net. Thanks.

Denise Costanzo Shaw

Hi, I'm from Chile, and according to my research, most of the Constanzo-Costanzo family left Sicily around the 1900's. I'm not sure why, but I've tracked my family here in Chile and the first Costanzo arrived around that decade from Sicily. The surname on reccord was Constanzo, apparently due to a misspell on a nationalisation certificate.

Any information is appreciated
Kind Regards

Felipe (Phillip)

My family name is Costanz, but it was changed when my family came over from Italy. My grandfathers name was Joesph and I am not sure if it was his father or grandfather who changed it. He traveled the U.S. working for the railroads but finally settled in Oregon. My father ended up going back to New York where his father grew up after coming over from Italy. Its all a little confusing. If you think you are part of my family send me an E-mail and we can chat.
Take Care.

Mario Costanz

I found a census record with the name of Pascal Costanzo and about the right age living in a boarding house in PA. I will send you a copy. My grandmother Grace Costanzo Uhl said that his brother pete was in a wheelchair. She also said that pop's family did contact him once to see if he wanted his share of their property in Italy.
Lori,
Hello.
I'm your distance cousin from Orlando. (Pop and Mom Costanzo's grandson.)
I have been doing a little more research on Peter Costanzo and was intrigued to hear that he was a cripple.
I think I have a photo of Peter in this teen years...but have little or no information on Peter. In fact, I have very little information on how Pascal Costanzo Sr. came to Amercia, his ancestry...and why he migrated to Middlesboro of all places.
I too have heard that he came from PA..but the story goes cold after that.
I have traced our Bisceglia line all the way back to the early 1800's...but have reached a roadblock on Pascal Costanzo Sr.
Any leads or tidbits you have would be greatly appreciated for my research.

All the best,
Bernie Bullard

I believe my father told me that my paternal grandmother and grandfather are from Capaci. I know for a fact that they immigrated from Palermo, Sicily. I'm pretty sure they were from Capaci. I'm interested in getting an Italian citizenship via bloodline. I just need to get my father on board to help out with finding the proper information. My grandma's maiden name was Marion Rizzo and my grandfather's name was Peter Costanzo (I'm sure his first name was Americanized). Why are you so eagerly seeking Costanzo's from Capaci, Palermo, Sicily? Are we related?

I have an Anthony Costanzo in my family tree from Buffalo, NY. He's my great-uncle. I don't know very much information about him, but I do know my Anthony's brothers and sisters names.

Tell me if these sound familiar: (my grandmother)
Mary (Costanzo) Palica (Born: 10/27/17 Detroit,
Michigan), Raymond Joseph Costanzo, Felix Costanzo Jr.,
James Costanzo (Miniter) (he changed
his last name), Howard Costanzo, Mary (Costanzo) (my
grandmother’s little sister, and the 2nd daughter named
Mary in the family), and Josephine (Costanzo) Preneavau.

About the title of your post, Felix and Concetta (Concilleri/Cancelliere was her maiden name) would be Anthony's parents (my great-grandparents).

I've been doing some deep searches as of late. Hopefully we made a connection. Contact me at jenna.palica@uconn.edu

My grandfather's (also John, or Giovanni) family is from Capaci, Sicily. He was born here in the US in 1907. His father's name was Erasmo, and I'd guess he was born 20-30 years earlier, or around 1877-1887. His father's name was Francesco, and his wife's name was Anna. My guess is he would have been born around 1860-1870.

Sounds like there may be a connection... John

Hi, my name is Cora-Lee and I have been living in Italy for 17 years. I would like to know if any of my Great Grandfather's family is still alive in Calabria. All I know is that he was born in Italy and went to Canada when he was a little boy around 7. His name was Joseph (which I am sure was really Giuseppe) Antonio Costanzo. He died on the 18 of November in 1973. He married a lady who I think was Yugoslavian but born in Pittsburgh USA. Her name was Mary Evelyn Maras, later Costanzo and she died on January 31, 1968. Can you help me out?? Please contact me. Thanks. Cora-Lee

Hello!

My name is Richard Costanzo. Nick Costanzo was my great-grandfather. He was born in Nicosia in 1887 and came through Ellis Island in October of 1900 with his sister. Nick had 5 sons, one of which was Benedict (my grandfather) who had a son named Benedict (my father) and a daughter Mary-Ann. The ship manifest for Nick (Nicolo) can be found on the Ellis Island site by searching for Nicoli Castanzo, they totally misspelled his name. His record is the last on the manifest and his sister is directly above. I would love to get more information about your side of the family.

They had 2 children: Giuseppe and Giuseppa. This leads me to belive that Grazia's father or Tomasso's father was named Giuseppe. This is all I know of my ggrandmother. Do you have any connections?
