I know this is an old post but I just came across it and wanted to chime in. My father is Danny Lyle Cota and my name is Lyle Cota. I've always been told the name came from his uncle Lute Lyle Cota. My dads father's name was Eugene Cota and my dad was born in southern Indiana (I think Vincennes). They moved around and settled in Brownsburg IN just west of Indianapolis. I'm now living in Arizona but the rest of my family is in Indiana.
