My great grandfather was Calvin Kennette Cott (born in Gilliam, MO 3-17-1872)son of Amos Wood Cott and Charity Frances Wilhite. Calvin married Virginia Catherine Morrison (born in Gilliam, MO). Their children (born in Gilliam) were: Novella Frances (11-7-1893 to 10-18-1966), Cecil and Joe Morrison.

My grandmother, Novella (or Lella, as she liked to be called)married Clarence Burton Peck (12-7-1893 to 10/18/1966).

Calvin, Virginia, Novella, Cecil and Joe all died in Katy Texas.

My g.g.grandmother was Rosella Cott Shaw b. 1839 in Illinois.
I've always known she was Indian but not much else. Your post
rang a bell as she moved to Kansas,possibly by way of Indiana, and I know that her father was French, maybe the Ambrose or Stephen Cott referred to in another post. I know its been years since your post, but do you have any other information?

I was looking for Ridlen obits here, and I came across this post. I have some information regarding Martha M. (Roberts) Ridlen CATT if you are still looking for it.

Martha M. Roberts was born abt December 1861, Indiana, the daughter of (John) Isaac & Nancy (?) Roberts. She was united in marriage on May 23, 1878, Hancock County, Indiana, to Abraham Ridlen, (December 18, 1856, Hancock County, Indiana to March 15, 1880, Hancock County, Indiana*, bu: Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Greenfield, Hancock County, Indiana; the son of George Robertson & Edna (Gray) Ridlen) To this union, one known child was born, Hester/Edna Ridlen (abt 1879-?).
Following the death of Abraham, she was united in marriage to Isaac Theodore Catt (abt March 1861, Hancock/Shelby/Henry County, Indiana - bef 1920, Kansas) on on December 07, 1885 Hancock County, Indiana**. To this union, eight known children were born: John W. Catt (2/4/1888, Greenfield, Hancock County, Indiana-abt 2/1968, Morris County, Kansas), Benjamin H. Catt (Abt Sept 1890IN-?), George E. I have been researching Cott's from Missouri today and have located a Montgomery Cott b 1879 and a Yeager (Frederick) Cott b 1875 both born in Missouri who were living in Stevens Co., Kansas in 1910, 1920 and 1930. I am wondering if the two are brothers and what their ancestry might be?? Any and all help would be appreciated.

I am looking for information on a baby girl born in California around 1940-1943 her father was Oliver George Cott/Catt born 19 Feb 1920 in Herrington Kansas, the parents divorvce before 1944 and the mother took the little girl, name unknown to Canada? That is the story and remarried and changed her name, Oliver George was my uncle and his wife now wont talk about the event, she said that when her and Oliver George Cott got married in 1947 the little girl was about 5 yrs old. Barbara Cott(Katt) and Eli Craft are my gggparents. Their daughter, Harriet Elizabeth Craft is my ggrandmother. She married James Tolbert Harbison and after he died in 1909, married Elias Snyder. James and Harriet are buried in Selma, CA. Would like to hear from Craft/Cott/Harbison/Weaver cousins.

My grandfather, Leonard Cott b. 1899, was married and had a child (daughter) before he married my grandmother. When they divorced, she moved away and he never saw either of them again. I am looking for a marriage record or birth record with his name on it, prior to 1929. He was born in Saline Co., MO, but may have been in the military (army?) when he met/married her. The daughter would be in her 70's.

I have a Novella Catt/Cott born to Amos "Wood" Catt/Cott and Charity Wilhite Jackson. Amos "Wood" was born 13 Sep 1830, died 20 Nov 1922 buried in Fish Creek Baptist Cemetery, Saline Co. MS. He was in the Civil War, Federal Army. I show a sibling of Novella named Kennette/Kenneth?

Amos Wood's parents were Solomon Catt/Cott and Sarah Fort. I have a lot on them as Solomon is my 3rd Great-Grandfather.

Rosalie Cott, daughter of Antoine (or Stephen) Cott of Illinois or Indiana. Antoine married Indian woman named Mary Dashney. Rosalie married William Shaw. Went to Miami County, Kansas in 1857 from the areas of Illinois and Indiana. Does this sound familiar?

It has been a long time since I have gotten into the Cott line but, to answer your question. I have no idea if your Cott line connects to my George Ferdinand Cott, M.D. (grandffather) I have no siblings for my grandfather who was born ca: 1789, Weimar, Germany. His wife was Mary Ann Buse. Both are buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, Erie Co., NY That I am sure of as I've been there, in fact was born there (no not in the cemetery) but in Buffalo, now in Tulsa, OK.. That would have made Amos 60 and Charity 49 at the time that Josephine was born - it is more likely that they were her grandparents.

Do you have any info on Kenneth as Novella's last name would have changed (unless she married a cousin or such)?

Thanks for your help! This 'twig' is driving me nuts! All the info I have from my family was her name - the rest came from her obit.

The sibling names I have come from her obituary -
Lewis and Novella. Novella married ?Yeager. I have a picture of Josephine, Lewis and his wife May (Mae). There is also a picture of her mother but no name, only marked Grandma Cott.

Josephine was born 6-4-1890.

Any help would be so welcome.
