My family of Cottens came from Coosa Co., Alabama, to Henderson/Anderson Counties, Texas, before the Civil War. They settled at Cayuga near the county line. Charles K. Cotten and Rutha E. Mahan were parents of William Pleasant, Tobitha Allin, Louisa Pairlee, Peter Clement Clay, James T., Martha, Alexander Black, David Crawford, Rial M., Charles M., and Rutha E. COTTEN.
