Surnames: Cotter, Morton

Hi,

I'm looking for information about a part of my family to whom there seem to be virtually no references anywhere.

My great grandfather was Alexander Cotter. He was born in Knock (Belfast) in 1887. He came to Vancouver, BC sometime prior to 1914, when he married Elizabeth 'Lily' Morton, who was also from Knock.

Alexander had two brothers and a sister, all of whom seem to have stayed in Ireland -- one of them, Alfred, having lived in Bangor.

According to a letter I received from a distant cousin who, as a child, met my great grandfather's siblings, one of the brothers (probably Alfred) had two daughters who married military men sometime after WW2 and moved to eastern Canada.

Unfortunately, I don't know where in eastern Canada they came; and because Cotter would have been their maiden names, I don't even know where to begin to look.

It is information about these two daughters in which I'm most interested at the moment. If by some miracle any of this rings a bell, I'd very much appreciate hearing from you.

Cheers,
Shane Laurie
Vancouver, BC, Canada
