Looking for info in a John Coulter who came to US, have no idea when. Has 2 brothers Robert and William both came to US also. The parents were Martin C. and Margaret McGill. They were from Co. Down. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks Karon

There was a Robert, William and John Coulter in Chester County South Carolina before the Rev War. There was a John Coulter that died in Wilkinson Co Ms. about 1818. This is beleived to be the same John Coulter. I would like to share information with you. Please contact me at: dougco@telepak.net

My great great grandmother was a slave belonging to David dhisholme, she married Edward chisholm aslo a slave belonging to the chisholm family. My great great grandmother had a son by the name of Alex coulter, I am told that he could pass for white. Around 1855 they were taken to Gainesville , florida and enslaved there. There was also a white Alex coulter who was a overseer who came from SC also. If you come across any information please email me.
