Ellie--- So Sorry for the duplication. I didn't know that you had written 2 messages.
Anyway, My Coulter emigrated from Ireland to Canada, thence to Michigan in 1876, thence to Washington Oregon in the 1890's.
None of your Oregon names are familier to me. After chasing my coulter to the west coast we had a reunion in Portland, Ore in
1988 with 44 in attendance whom up to that time I had never met or knew existed. We have found all of our Coulter family except John E. Coulter, b. 1868,Kincardine Twsp. Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. John was last seen in the 1880 US Census as living on the family farm in Chippewa County, Michigan.
He probably d. abt 1938,?, m.?. I mention John because he may have folowed his brother David who married and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1890's and who also owned a homestead in Josephine Co., Oregon; or his sister Mary Ann who married a George Talbot in 1885 and moved to Vancouver, Washington.
There was a John E. Coulter listed in the 1903 addition of the Vancouver, Washington City Directory, listed as working for a railroad company.
I am much interested in any and all data you have on your Oregon Washington Coulters.
Thanks for contacting me. You may have solved a 18 year search for both my brother Charles and me.
Best regards, Art Coulter
