H.M. Counsel, in Elk County, Pa

I have no connection to the Counsel surname other than for the fact that I am compiling a booklet about former rural and early school teachers once of Elk and several nearby counties. The name, H.M. Counsel, was listed as the grade school Principal at the Rolfe Township boro school in 1902.<br>It seems Mr. Counsels stay in Elk County was brief. His name dose not appear on any other lists of teachers in Elk County after 1902 so I assume he left the area. I have hit a brick wall in my efforts to learn more about his education and other teaching experiences. Also, I would like to find out if he graduated from a Normal School and, if so, the name of the school and the date he graduated. Did he continue a teching career? To be able to make a contact with one of his descendants would be teriffic then maybe some of the blanks about H.M. Counsel would be filled in. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Nancy Counsel/South Carolina/Laurens County Georgia/Sumter County Georgia

I have hit a dead end researching my gr-gr-gr grandfather, Elbert Pitman, and am now searching for information about his wife....Nancy Counsel from Laurens County Georgia. They were married on June 10, 1811 in Laurens County and later moved to Sumter County Georgia. They began having children in 1814 and had a large family there. Nancy passed away around 1839-40. The marriage record stated that she was from South Carolina. Any information on Nancy or her husband Elbert Pitman would be greatly appreciated.
