I have always hoped to find someone with a photo of Loretta but so far no luck, other descendants have been kind enough to e-mail a photo of Emma and her sister Thresea (Tress). any help in information, photo's and documents would be greatly appreciated, will be glad to share anything I have

your's truely
Shirley Raymond
shirley778446@yahoo.com
918-962-3479

Boy, Chris, I just am not sure who this is FOR SURE -- maybe someone else will post who has a clearer idea. These re-circulating of the names and sticking "John" in front of everything [like sometimes my Adam F. is listed as John Adam F or even just John Adam [wife Mary, big help huh?]- you have to be almost clairvoyant to unweave all the threads! :(

I just realized I was unclear about Hannah - her surname is PICKENS [her husband is Martin or Martinus]; Amelia's husband is JOHN THAYER, and my Rebecca/Rebekkah wed ADAM NESTLE, who we now believe is the son of GOTTLIEB NESTLE by his 2nd of 3 wives [not Barbara Dillenbach] - this deduction was made from census information on Gottlieb.

Attached is pages 572 - 573 of the will of Isaac of Stark dated Nov 28, 1874. Isaac was eighty-two years old when he made the will. That would make his birth year as 1792 so he would be old enough to fight in the War of 1812.

I see rereading this they spell Rebecca's surname NESTEL and Hannah as PERKINS but that is for sure WRONG. Solomon is the son who drowned in Otsego Lake and his two daughters are Perlina and Serena. They also even within this document spell Adam's F's surname both as COUNTRYMAN and CUNTERMAN. I guess this is not unusual in that day and age. Also there are attachments to this will [where the send out to all the heirs who have to sign off - these are available through the LDS microfilms]. And this makes me so sad - whereas Amelia Countryman Thayer can and does sign her full name, my poor little Rebecca can only sign an "X" :(

Thanks so much for this, Chris! I really would be willing to bet the big bucks that Adam F. is Frederick's son -- everything that I know about him so far totally fits -- esp his middle initial! Also he would have been a minor child referred to in Frederick's will. And location is also perfect.

Yes, I have some knowledge of this family. My mom was a Countryman from PA and NJ. I have some information on Robert H Countryman and am doing the research on his parents. His mother, Margaret died in 1869 and his father William in 1870, making Robert an orphan at age 5. I have ordered death certificates from the archives in Philadelphia Pennsylvania where Roberts parents are from. My email is ckeisling@windstream.com if you need to contact me. Cheryl

Johann Fridrich Gundermann of Germany Entzburg is my GGGGGGG grand father He was born 1672 and came to New York 1709. My line of the family traveled across the northern states over a 100 yr period and ended in Washington state just before state hood 1889. Conderman, gunderman gunterman countryman konderman and many other spellings all trace back to Johann. Do you need any other information?

It all sounds good to me, I am on holiday right now, but as you see I have my laptop, I have not played around with my tree for a long time. Bill needs to join Genes Reunited and then he will be able to access my tree.
I have death certificates from Herberts generation, a picture of Charles' wife and would kill for one of him if anybody has one, and quite a few memories to share. Margaret Chralie's daughter died last year in New Zealand , just such much but lets keep it for later. We are based in Yorkshire, where are you lot?

Hi,
I think you're thinking of my older half-brother and sister,Jonathan and Rebeccah. Dad re-married and I'm James.I have a younger sister called Jane-Louise too. Dad still works in our family business (at 78!)
I recently went to Mary's 80th birthday in Aldershot, where most of my clan were present. Uncle John was there as were Catherine and Elizabeth,John's daughters. Sadly,Joanna, his eldest passed away about 18 months ago.
I don't know who Permilla is;I was showing Dad how to use his laptop to search, and he suggested "Charles Rosewell Lawrance" and this thread appeared. I think it's shaken him a bit!

He died in Nebraska and his body was shipped by train back to kansas to be buried with his wife. There family lived in Lee, Oranida county New York as did Permillia. They moved to Ceder County, Nebraska in the 1870's then down to Kansas in the 1880's where my grandmother died in 1896. Buried in in Cherokee County, Kansas as is my grandfather.
Any Further inlightment would be appreciated. Thanks Janice

Years later... I picked my search up again and found my answers. I don't think this is the best place to give thanks but "thank you" everyone who has taken time into putting Countryman Family info. out there. It has helped me out a lot.

To keep it short, here is my line of descent:
John - Obediah - Owen S. - Curtis - Elanor - Harold - Me!

I may be reached at mixedelements@aol.com. When I think of my grandmother as being one of Owen's granddaughters it's amazing. The link crosses quite a bridge in time. She is alive and well.
