Thank you John Court.. you sent me this years ago, I saved it, and have figured it out! I am 99.99% POSITIVE this is my earlier family!

I think that this is Alfred's (Shorty) earlier family. They appear to have had money, at least while the Father in law was alive, as they had a house servant.

57 Prospect Row, Redditch 1851
Age Born about Birth Place Occupation
John Court 29 1823 Redditch Fish hook maker
Jane Court 24 1828 Bromsgrove Fish hook bender
John William Court 7 1844 Redditch Scholar
Anna Maria Court 5 1846 Redditch Scholar
Emma Court 2 1849
Ellen Court 1 Mo 1851
Joseph Manley Butcher & Father in Law
Also had a house servant

53 Ipsley Street, Redditch 1861

Age Born about Birth Place Occupation
John Court 38 1823 Redditch Fish hook maker
Jane Court 33 1828 Bromsgrove Fish hook bender
Emma Court 12 1849 Redditch Fish hook bender
Ellen Court 10 1851 Redditch Scholar
Selina Court 7 1854 Redditch Scholar
Harriet Court 9 Mo 1860 Redditch

Living at 137 George Street, Redditch 1871

Age Born about Birth Place Occupation
John Court 48 1823 Redditch Fish hook maker
Jane Court 43 1828 Bromsgrove Fish hook bender
Selina Court 17 1854 Redditch Needle Maker?
Alfred Court 8 1863 Redditch Scholar*****
Frank Court 6 1865 Redditch Scholar
William Court 1 1870 Redditch

MY GG Grandfather is Alfred*****, born 1863.
Court family in England

Well, it seems like you are all having fun, so I'll add my little bit.
My father was Arthur Geoffrey Court, born in LIverpool on 5th July 1915. He had two sisters: Marjorie and Mabel, both of Southampton. His father was Arthur Flecknoe Court who had a brother called Archie. All three were engineers with the Cunard Line out of Liverpool and Southampton. Archie's name appears in the engine room log book as Chief Engineer in the Queen Mary at Long Beach, if anyone's interested.. Arthur Flecknoe had another brother Jack and several sisters including Marjorie, Mabel and Winifred, all of whom lived in Great Crosby, Liverpool.
There was a Sir Josiah Court of Derbyshire who was a doctor during the 1800's. I think he invented the miner's lamp.
I have two brothers: Steven, who is a doctor in Harley St., London and David, deceased.
I am in Singapore and have a son, Richard John and a daughter, Emma Victoria.
My family used to talk about a connection to the Stratford-on-Avon area during the 16th century.
History of Bell/Court of Prince Edwards Island

Here's a web site that has the Bell and Court family history in it: http://www.islandregister.com/bell1.html. I'm looking for a JPG or other image to verify if the 1901 census from this area is correct. My Grandmother's name as known to us was Helen Maude Court. When I look at the census for 1901 it shows up as E. Maud Court age 7. The Father and Mother are correct and the age is correct but the first name is an "E" instead of an H. Could just be a transacription error but would like to see an image. You can go to this site and do a census search: http://www.edu.pe.ca/paro/census/build.asp

Here also is an online resource to get public records:
http://www.gov.pe.ca/infopei/onelisting.php3?number=43516

Alfred Court

Any genealogical information regarding Alfred Court (1883-?) Almost certainly from the USA.
Alfred was a circus animal trainer who presented a sophisticated style of training. He would work with Tigers, polar bears, lions, Siberian snow leopards and Great Dane dogs. His master act consisted of two dogs, two wolves, two tigers, a jaguar, three polar bears, eight lions, two leopards and two black bears.
Not my family tree but he seemed an interesting person to research.

Can anyone help me with family history/tree information about descendants or ascendants of the following?

Therzia Court & William A. Ball, who had a son James Creighton.

As I research my families widely, both for my own family tree purposes and as a gift to friends and their families, I would really appreciate any family tree and relevant research copies from anyone in any country who is researching the COURT name, or perhaps some leads to already existing websites where this type of information can be found.

If anyone wishes to send me information, either a Gedcom or a file attached to an email would be very welcome. I would be quite happy to send anyone who requests it all the information I have in return. I run Legacy 6 as a genealogy programme on my computer.

Thanks for your assistance, everyone.

Since it's been a while since the Court Board has had any activity, it has been suggested that I try and get some conversation going. My great great grandparents were James Court and Florence Palmer. I've located their marriage certificate. In one of the census records, James has stated his father was born in Prussia. He also states he was born in Indiana. The 1880 census shows James and Florence in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Florence died before 1900. James remarried. This is where my trail gets cold. If anyone is also kin to this line of Courts, I'd love to hear from you.

I do know, like your Court famil, he came from Prussia, that is wife's name was Flora, and she was born in Indiana. Robert was born around 1842. Do you have any other info. on this line? I'll get back with you after I research in the county your James was from. My grandfather was also James (Frederick) Court.
This part of my family has stumped me for a few years.
Looking for information about this couple. in 1920 Census listed with Michel and Augusta Thiebe. Louisa is the spelling I have for daughter of Michel and Augusta however it hard to read. On second page Martin Court is clearly listed as son-in-law, 28 years of age living with the Thiebe family. I need further information of the Court relations with the Thiebes and if Augusta and Michel are the great grandparents of my husband. thank you, Lyn Thiebe

COURT of Kent, England

Hello, I am researching in the Dover, Kent, England area for any information on James Court and Susan Graham. They were married in 1870 in Dover, Susan d: in 1881 and James d: 1912. They had two daughters and one son. The two daughters emigrated to Canada in 1913 and the son was missing in World War One.

I have been unsuccessful in finding birth information on James. According to the limited records I have, he was born in Sandwich, England, spent his early years in the Eastry Union Workhouse and married when he was 30 years old.

Any information would be most appreciated.

Marilyn Phelps

John William Court

I have previously posted this, just want to add new info... little as it is.

Again, I am looking for info on the Court family (aren't we all?) My gf was Edward Peter Court. He had brothers named Phil (Phillip?), Joseph, George, and a sister Emma, (not sure if this is her full name) and there may be others, I am not sure. There is also a Florence Court, but not sure if she is thru marriage, am still trying to find out.

I have very little resouces to work with, so am hoping someone will see this and have something.

My GF was born to John William Court, aka Willie. His family came from somewhere near Surrey Eng? His family owned a pub there. His mother was Emma Moriah (??) He married a Winefred (sp?) Gallagher, they married in Brooklyn. John William had a brother James Court, who I think somehow was estranged from the family. James had a daughter named Gloria, who may still be living? There is also a Grace Court, tho I have no idea

My GF is Edward Peter Court, and he married Marie Walsh in Brooklyn NY area. Their children are Catherine, Robert, Edward (my dad) Dennis, Marie, Thomas, Geraldine, William, Alfred, James and Michael.
They all lived in Brooklyn NY, and also there are Millwaters in the family, I am just starting to attempt that line.

If anyone has any info I would be thrilled to hear from you! TY

Valerie Court
Court family of WV, KY , MS, and England

My name is Carroll B. Byrne Jr. son of Carroll B. Byrne the son of Mildred May Court (Byrne, Lyons). She had three brothers, Roger, Ray and Alfred (Alf) which many years ago together had a soda pop factory called Court Soda in Biloxi, Mississippi. One of the soda pop flavors were called Winola. Alfred was also a chemist. Alf had a son named Alfred Court Jr. who also has a son named Alfred Court III, all lived around the Biloxi area.I think one of the Alfs are still alive (probably Alf III). Alfred was married to a lady named Mazie Court the mother to Alf Jr. who died around 1972-1974. Alf lived to be, I think 100 years old. Mildred lived to be 96. She was born in Jan.6th 1895. She died around October 13, 1991. Carroll was born March 31, 1913, died in Clay, WV on Oct.12 1995. Mildred, Alf, Rog, Ray had a cousin that lived in Manchester, England that lived to be around 105 years old. She died in the late 1980's. I used to write to her for Mildred as she couldn't see very well (I was 12-13) I can't remember her name. Alf sent me some Chemistry books (which I still have) when I was around 12. Some how all of this is tied into being related to William Howard Taft which was spelled Taafftt in England in the 1800's. I know the story around the Courts and the Tafts also.If any of this is familiar to you and you have any info on my geneology PLEASE e-mail me soon. Or leave it on the bullitin board.

COURT NAME

Our family began in Louisiana in 1828 when Thomas Court, an Englishman, married Anna Johnson in St. Landry Parish. They moved to Texas and recieved one of the first Mexican Land Grants, settling in Sabine Pass, Texas (Gulf Coast). They had seven children. My great-great grandparents were Julia Ann Sparks & James Madison Court.

Am interested in finding other family members who may know more about Thomas Court and his English side of the family. Also, how Thomas actually died and when (supposedly drowned either coming back from England around 1849-1850, or in Galveston Bay while working(hauling Timber) around the same years. His parents were listed as "Thomas Court and Ellen Anesworth, Kent, England" on his and Anna's marriage certificate. Any help would be appreciated.

Debbie Courts Spurgeon

Henry S. BOWLES m. Martha Ann WHITE in Montgomery Co.,TX in 1849. They had the following children:
Elizabeth J. m. Willliam HITTSON
Julia m. Martin Franklin WHATLEY
Frances Adelina m. Sam T. STOUTSENBERGER and G. W. ROBERTS
Clara m.Edward Clarence DUER
Jessie
Nannie (died young)
Mattie
Kate
Benjamin Burleson m. Johnnie Ruth SHAPARD

I don't know which sisters married a COURT, CRAWFORD or a YOUNG. Phone interviews in and around Houston told me that one of these daughters married a COURT...that's all they know. And CRAWFORD and YOUNG show up on land documents.

If anyone can shed any light on these families, I would be very grateful.
