My name is Karla George. My maiden name was Courtland. My fathers name was Howard John Courtland. His dad was Carl Peter Courtland. I guess when grandpa came from Holland our name was changed from Van Courtlandt to Courtland. I am so interesred to find out about our great history of our family that my dad had always wanted to check out.

Ijust ran across your query about the Courtland family, and Boyd and Stevenson. We also are researching these families. We are descendants of Blanche Stevenson, daughter of Henry Stevenson and Estella Pearl Boyd. Blanche married Mack Courtland, son of Thomas Jefferson Courtland and Anna Walker. their daughter Pearl is my husbands mother. My email is waterway1028@gulftel.com . If you will email me I have some information on the stevensons, but am hitting a dead end on Courtland. I could not make the connection between Stonewall and Mack.

I am researching this surname for a friend of mine. Harold was her grandfather. He was the son of Edward Courtland and Clara Edwards, both born in New York. "Harry" died of a sudden heart attack in the train station in Kelso, WA on 25 October 1939. His wife's maiden name was GLUD. Harry was a cook and worked for the railroad.
