Classification: Query
Surnames: Cousins, Johnston, Longstreth, Armstrong
In 1903 Viola Cousins was shot and killed by her estranged husband, Leonard Johnston, in Forest County, Pennsylvania (New Castle News, New Castle, PA, Friday, December 18, 1903, p. 9). She was living with her uncle and aunt, Orlando and Clara (Armstrong) Longstreth when she was killed. One newspaper article reported Viola was an orphan, but the daughter of an Emerson Cousins of Jefferson Twp. I have not been able to locate any entries in the Census records of around that time for either Viola or Emerson. Can anyone help me identify the family connections of this Viola Cousins, who was probably between 20-30 years old when she was killed?
Thank you, James Longstreth
