Is there any record of Covolts who connect with any who wen t to Pennsylvania? My family was in PA from 1818 until 1843 or 1844. Fanny who was a widow in the 1850 Census of Blackford Co IN, Licking Twp, was 50 yrs old at that time. I don't know what her husbands name was. I will look for that info.

My Covolt/Covalt/Covault ancestors are from Hartford City IN. That is Blackford Co where they worked in the Sneath Glass Factory.

I descend from Phillip Covault (so I am told) who married Emily Townsend, the dau. of John Townsend and Temperance Householder. John is the son of Gilbert Townsend who married Mary Saxton, the dau. of John Saxton and Elizabeth Evans. John fought i the Revolutionary War so we have the DAR paperwork on this. I am still trying to connect us to Phillip. Unfortunately my relatives who got the paperwork are no longer able to help with this due to age/illness. If you know who Phillip married or who his children were that would help me.

sorry sis, our covault line originated in Wales, and all the covault lines, even the ones that are spelled different seem to intersect. so we are all pretty much related. our line going backward is. father maurice, his father, bertie , then job, then isaac, then isaiah, then timothy, then abraham, then abraham.

Hi everybody,the only record of any covaults coming to america Ta ship named the king george in 1634!one my dads aunts had put hhstogether a book ver.y detailed,and very informative.it has who everybody married and where they lived,chances are you can trace your relatives to someone in this geneolgy book.

I am a grandson of Frank E Covault, ca 1894 and Agnetta Sutherland, ca 1892 and nephew of Margaret Covault Morrow (1927-2007).

I live in Bellbrook, Ohio while many of the other cousins are located closer to the Fletcher, Ohio area. We have visited the memorial marker for "Covault Station" in Milford, Ohio. The cousins are still having an annual reunion for the descendants of John Elmer Covault, ca. 1869 and Sarah Viola Major ca. 1874.

My husband's family line is Covault from the Guthrie County Iowa area. We are in Colorado with other family in Alaska. The Covault line is Isaac to William Hamilton to William Roy to Elmer Keith.

I have Bert and brothers Merle and Bruce Covault, sons of Silas Harvey Covault who was born 04 Feb 1849 in Miami County, Ohio, died 26 July 1899 Malcom, Iowa; married Sara Emaline McCoy -no other data on her or on Bert, Merle, Bruce. Silas Harvey Covault was son of Isaac A. & Elizabeth Anderson Covault.

Bible records of Henry C. PECK and wife Elizabeth HEMMINGWAY show a daughter Elizabeth born 6 Nov 1828 in Bedford Co., PA. Bible records show she married a COVAULT and they had a daughter Mary E. born 8 Nov 1853 in IN.

The 1860 Blackford Co. IN census shows Ephraim 25 PA and daughter Mary E. 8 IN.

Mary E. married Benjamin M. VARNER 19 Jan 1871 in Grant Co., IN.

Census records for Mary E. VARNER show she was born in IN and her parents in PA.

Have you found your connection yet? I have most of the Ohio Covualt families and dont see this one. IN Fletcher Cemetery is Isaac A and a Newton, but Newton bonr 1831 died 1903.
Also dont see this fellow in the 1880 census or 1900 or 1910. Are you sure about the facts?

I dont know where you got the info that Mauruce was born is MS.

Bert is son of Job A Covault and Jennie Ann Murphy.
Bert was born in Indiana, but only becasue his parents spent a couple of years there. They were from Miami Co, OH. Bert is in the 1920 Franklin Co, Ohio census and all of the children born Ohio.

Bert must be the Fancis sibling you mentioned and Robert must have been born after the 1920 census.

Covaults of Fountain/Warren Cos. IN

Some branches of both families moved to the Fountain/Warren Co area of Indiana in the 1820's and decades after--and I notice that your grandmother was of Warren, Indiana. Isaac Newton Covault of Ohio (ca 1878-1916)

Looking for ancestors of Isaac Newton COVAULT who came from Shelby County, OH, died at a hotel in Wellston, OH, in 1916, and was buried at Fletcher Cemetery in Miami Co, OH. Don't know who his parents were, but there were several Covaults in the Shelby-Miami area. Was reportedly a salesman for Edison Phonographic at the time of his death. He may have been the ex-husband of a cousin of mine, Elizabeth (Bennett) Covault. All help appreciated. Thanks

That's my family. There are a lot of descendants. Most of the family lived outside of Johnstown though Goldie and Erma moved to Lancaster, PA. Earl and Cliff had farms on Benschoff Hill. Sadly, all are deceased. Goldie never married and had no children. What specifically would you like to know about descendants? Are you related?

My name is Joy Covault Coonfield and I live in Arkansas. My parents were both from Ohio. My dad was Lester Kenneth Covault born in 1909 and his Father was David Pearl Covault, I believe. He died when my dad was a boy, so I never knew him. My dad had 5 sisters. I really don't know much else, but if anyone could give me info on them I would appreciate it.

I can't seem to find anything by typing in the Covault name on my address bar. Do you have anyone I can contact by e-mail or other wise that would have some info on the Covault family. My parents were both from Ohio. My Dad's name was Lester K. Covault and his father's name was David Pearl Covault. Any info would be appreciated.

i am also a covault looking for my past and anyfamily i have.i do not know my history..all i know is my dad was named..norman and his dad was charles married to martha. and my grandfather was from ohio. i seen old photographes from the early 1900's showing large family.but i have never met them..old black and white photo's as early as maybe late 1800's. i am the last of the line i thought..till i came about this message board..i am 42.now..i survived 4 children..i was the only boy.my step sister was nancy..who died long ago..the other step sister..name..unknown..my real sister.michelle..died.15 years ago.i am at a loss..another clue here.. my dad, norman..was married 5 times..b4 passing away in 1975. any information would help..

Richard Covault Book

The information in the book by Richard Covault leaves much to be desired in CORRECT information. I do know a person that does have the book her name is Margaret Covault she lives in OH. You can also contact a Roger Covalt on his web site by just typing his name on your address bar the same for a man named Colt also by entering his name on your address bar.Margaret has ALL of the CORRECT information on the Covault line. Another way just enter the name Covault on your address line you will be amazed what you can find. I have been doing genealogy since 1960, and have over 6,000 name on my computer. You maight also try to contact the Gustin family also in Ohio they have many files on the Covaly, Covault, Cavolt, etc. They are decendants of the Gustin's of Abrahams wife.
