My name is Gail Riggens, m.s Coventry. When tracing back my family tree ,I was surprised to find that one set of my paternal ggg grandparents, were born in Ireland.
I have a marriage of William COVENTRY to Maria WHITE, in Glasgow,28/12/1847.
On the 1851 census, both William and Maria, give Ireland, as their place of birth.I do not know where in Ireland.
William and Maria subsequently had their family here in Scotland, and settled for a time in the Port Glasgow area.
If anyone knows of a link to this family, then please do get in touch. In particular ,I would like to know roughly which area or county ,William and Maria left from, to come over to Scotland to marry.

Many thanks

Gail
