Arthur was my great grandfather, second or third son of Millis and Mary Coventry. The name Millis comes from Arthur's great grandmother, Martha Millis who married Joseph Coventry in 1768 in St Botolphs Aldersgate, London.
Arthur married Caroline Bagshawe in 1862/3 and had 7 children - Theodore(married in 1901 Eleanor May Langley), Helen(married 1888 George Kennedy), Marion(married 1893, I think to Frank Page Oakley), Walter, Hilda, Arthur( possible spouse Gertrude) and Charles (best man at his father's second wedding). Co-owened Smith & Coventry Ltd. at Gresley Iron Works Salford Lancs.
After being widowed in 1893 he remarried in 1895 to Emily Georgiana Rosher and had five daughters - Mary Joan (my grandmother) Margaret Eva, Irene, Winifred and Eileen between 1895 and 1903.
If anyone has the names Millis and Coventry together in their family tree please get in touch. I believe their was a Millis Coventry born in 1902 in Altrincham and a Theodore Millis Coventry was at Cambridge University around 1920.
I have photos of the children from the first of Arthurs families around the 1890's.
Would very much like to find out more info.
Fingers crossed.
Michele
