The parents of your Alexander Cowan are Thomas Cowan, a marine from the Isle of Man who came to settle in Shippagan NB in the early 1820s, and Margaret Campbell, daughter of John Campbell and Mary MacIntosh, who are considered the first settlers of Miscou.
