P.J. clipping dated November 5, 1940: Charles G. Cowden, died yesterday at 2:30 p.m. at the home of his son, Glenn Cowden, 205 Esat First street, aged 71 years. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Colby of Duke Center, Pa.; four sons, Glenn Cowden of Jamestown, Gerald Cowden of Conneaut Lake, Pa.; Private First Class Gilbert Cowden, service company, Fort Niagara, and Lawrence Cowden, Hawaii; and four brothers, Dr. Morris Cowden of Gerry, Grant and Deforest Cowden of Bemus Point, and M. F. Cowden of Warren. The remains are at the Bowers Funeral Home.

Funeral of Mr. Cowden. The funeral of Charles G. Cowden was held from the Fluvanna Community Church yesterday with Rev. Gordon Houser officiating. Bearers were George Colby, Martin Colby, Jr., Gilbert Cowden, Glenn Cowden, Gerald Cowden and Byron Mathews. Burial was in Fluvanna Cemetery. From away werre M. F.
