Hi John - my great,great,great grandfather John Hay married a Mary Anne Cowie - and according to the info I have from my grandfather William Hay, he died in 1872 at Little Greendykes,Cornhill and Mary Ann died in 1868 also at Little Greendykes.Also my great grandfather James's son John married a Jessie Ann Cowie in 1880 but she apparently died in 1886 leaving two children Mary Ann and James. They lived at Black Culphin Farm, Cornhill,Ordiquill. Some of the Hay family still live in the Silverhillock Cottages there.
