Port Henry — Nellie A. Cowin, 91, of the Westport Road in Port Henry, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at the Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga.
Mrs Cowin was born on July 10, 1909, at Brandon, Vt., the daughter of William A. and Lillian S. Brown.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ralph and Janet Cowin of Chever and Wallace (Robert) Cowin of Chever; four daughters and a son-in-law, Edna Rogers of Port Henry, Lillian Humiston of Fulton, Athleen (Cathy) Hamm of Syracuse and Syliva and William Munson of Crown Point; 29 grandchildren; several great- and great-great-grandchildren; her godson, Jaylee Munson of Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roland Cowin, in 1947; and her sons, Roland G. Cowin in 1964 and Rodney Cowin in 1973.
Calling hours were Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alice Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Port Henry.
Memorial donations may be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad.
