Trying to ram through this brick wall once again! Farthest I can go back is William Cox, who appears in the 1755 Orange Co., NC tax list and moved to Greenville, SC in 1787. (I don't believe he is the Quaker by the same name in the same Orange Co. area.) Anybody ever gotten further than that?? I'm starting to compile all my research here if anyone is interested in some Coxes from NC, Greenville, SC and later Cherokee, GA. Thanks!
