Am interested on any info you might have on Daniel Skinner Coy. There is a Daniel Skinner Coy burried in Heavener, Okla. He had 3 daughters I am sure of, maybe more. Emma, Etta and Lucy. Any info you can give would be appreciated. We were told his wife was Saran ANN Stokes. Thank you.

A descendant of the Richard Coy line of Lincolnshire, England (b. about 1600) says there is a family story that these Coys actually came from Germany and went to England before moving to America. I am very interested to know if they are related to your line. A benefit to you would be to see what the Jacob Coy "DNA signature" is. This would help you sort out lines and would also help someone who may be unsure of their exact line. DNA testing would help these individuals know which lines the most closely match. It is also fun to know where your relatives came from before there were formal, written records. It is also fun to find relatives and make new connections.

My grandmothers name was Emma Coy and her father was Daniel Coy. Daniel's kids were Emma, Etta & Lucy, not sure if there were any more children. One daughter, Emma, married Edward Augustus Victor, Etta married John Eden and Lucy married Sam Prince (Printz). They lived in missouri then moved to I.T. (Oklahoma).
This is the only information i have been able to document.
we are told emma coy's mother was Sarah Ann Stokes (Pansey, nickname). Any information on Sarah or any of her family would be appreciated.

died Friday afternoon October 2, 2009 at Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center following a lengthy illness. A resident of Erie all of her life she was born on August 14, 1927 a daughter of the late Walter and Ann Aloiz Lorenwski. Rita was a graduate of St. Benedict Academy and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Clem Lorenwski. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, George H. Coy; two sons, James Coy and wife and Kenneth Coy and his wife, Debbie, all of Erie; one daughter, Terri Spiece of Erie and her husband, Robert; four grandchildren, Chris Speice and his wife Lydia, Vicki Coy, Amy Matteson and her husband Kevin, and Kevin Speice; four great grandchildren, Adam, Regan, Robert, and Johnathan; and three step grandchildren, Chuck Hall, and Buddy and Jeremy Ingro. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Russell C. I am starting a Coy Family DNA Project. This project has been designed to help all Coys find links to ancestors where no paper records exist. I hope to help researchers find common ancestors and country of origin. The information may also help find out if two or more lines are related. I am working through FamilyTreeDNA. I was born in Westmoreland County, PA also. I went to my hometown for a wedding in mid-April and met a young man working at the hardware store who said his last name was Coy. It turned out his parents brought him from Scotland when he was a baby and he couldn't connect to any Coys who were in PA over 200 years ago.

I never knew anyone named Coy while I was growing up there.

I did make contact with Shirley Beeching who turned out to be my 5th cousin. (Her responses are with my original query) I just checked the family info she sent me for the descendants of Jacob Coy and Barbara Freed and they did not have a son named George. In fact, Jacob was born in 1791 so George could be his younger brother.

Hopefully, Shirley will respond to this query if she has any information for a George Coy. Jacob and Barbara went to Wayne County, Ohio from Westmoreland County, PA.

Well, there was an Anna Forby , who lived in Haapsalu and died there and she was berried there,too. She had one daughter, who was my grandmother - her name was Elsa anf shegot married in Tallinn, I think, but she met my granffatheer in Petrburg before the first World War - he studied there and she worked as a home teacher.. Maybe there is something helping You.. I don't knoe, is she the same person, You looking for??

Hello Melvin,Rachel Coy was my great grandmother,she was born in Hunslet in 1872,she had 2 brothers William, John Bedford, she married jim Raistrick in 1892,my grandmother Aice was born in 1901 she married Lawrence temple Frayne and my Mum veronica may was born 1931,I know rachels dad was John Coy married to Marie Adams but dont know anything else about marie are these part of your family tree.

Anna was born in New Britain CT 1823, she was raised, married and died there. She was married to James Harmon Beach.There were four children, I believe they were not all by Anna, I think James had a first wife. the children's names were Edgar H.,Charles w., Ralph James and Julia A. Ralph was my great grandfather, he married Belle Smith and had three children James Smith, Welton Coy, and my grandmother Helen Elizabeth Beach Bryan. I am having a lot of trouble finding any of Anna's family. At one time I had some information that when she and James Beach got married they had her siblings move in with them. I think both of Anna's parents passed away close together. Again I had some information on this but it for some reason has disappeared

Bertha Roby was actually not orphaned. I believe her mother, Elizabeth Ann Lilly, died when her younger sister Hattie was born. Her father, Rodney Roby lived until 1909 and was in touch with Hattie, who was raised by an aunt and uncle, and Hattie and her son were at Bertha's funeral, also in 1909. According to a letter from Hattie in 1927 to their older brother Fred Warren Roby, married to my great-grandmother and living in Middletown, CT, Bertha had a pretty bad time of it with the Coys. I don't know if she was raised by them but Hattie talks about them not letting her go around with young people at all.
I am looking for Hattie's exact birth, death and any children other than her son George. Her married name was Mears.

My g grandfather is Tom John Coy b 1863 Amcotts,(d.1933 NSW Australia), son of James and Mary Ann. He did emigrate to Australia with his wife, Isabella A Redmayne between 1888-1891. Their son,(my grandfather) also Tom John Coy, married Genevieve Lane in NSW, Australia in 1919 and had 4 children.

I think I recognise the names that you mentioned. My nme is Ronan Coy from Galway in Ireland. I'm not certain but I think that the Coy's you mentioned were from the Loughrea area in Galway. I have been doing the family tree of the Coys in Ireland and have researched several branches of the family. I don't have my family tree with me at the moment but I'll check later.

I believe Bridegt Fleming was from Ardrahan.

There were four ellen flemmings around the late 19th century in Galway.

he was my paternal Great Grandfather. I think his family later moved to Fulham in London.
