MUSCATINE, Iowa - Velma Arnett Cozad, 83, formerly of 114 Sherman St., died Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at the Muscatine Care Center.
Services will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerry Kahler will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rodney Reynolds, Harley Reynolds, Robert Farmer, Ronald Farmer, John Harvey, and Denny Dieckman. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
Mrs. Cozad was born on October 5, 1918, in Muscatine, the daughter of Elmer E. and Nellie I. Irwin Connor. She married Clifford Cozad on Feb. 26, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland.
She was a member of the Musserville Worship Center.
She worked for Laura Musser before she was married.
Survivors include three sons, Gary D. Cozad and his wife, Trena, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ronald A. Cozad and his wife, Peggy, of Muscatine, and Dennis L. Cozad and his wife, Barbara, of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Roma Reynolds and her husband, Robert, of Muscatine; one brother, Dean Connor and his wife, Thelma; three sister-in-laws, Colleen Larue of Muscatine, Corrine Mark and her husband, Harold, of Muscatine, and Florine Ramer of Muscatine; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, and her husband in 1998.
