There have been several variant spellings on the basic "Crab", eg Craib, Crabb, Crabbie, Crabbs, Crabbe, Crable so I wondered if you have had any connection with any of the other spellings?
Within my own family I have seen documents with the Crab, Crabb Crabbe spellings and i understand that this is not uncommeon with other Crabbe researchers.
