According to the Tentative Pedigree of "CRABTREE, OF BROUGHTON", prepared by Ernest Axon around 1900 from the records of the Manchester Cathedral, the astronomer William Crabtree was the son of John and Isabel (Pendleton) Crabtree. John was baptised 21 Oct 1576, married Isabel 22 Feb 1605-06, and was buried 23 Jan 1634-35. John's parents were William and Imyn (Emmin, Ellen?) Crabtree of Broughton. This William died 29 May 1587 and was buried at Manchester.
