There are errors regarding this Watson family line in at least two frequently used genealogical sources: “The Crafts Family” by J.M.Crafts, pub.1893 and “The Paddock Genealogy” by R. Curfman, pub.1977. Both include some wrong info for the children of Augusta Crafts Tolman & William Weldon Watson. They both indicate a daughter named Beatrice Augusta born 1/1/1887. But, this is the date of birth for Bertram Augustus Watson on his WWI draft registration. He was called Bert by his family. This couple lost two babies including a son named Henry Paddock who we have photos of as a toddler. The other lost infant could have been a girl with that name, but we have no info about that child. These books only list four children omitting their son Garnett. Curfman pulled his info from the Crafts book and numerous users of ancestry.com and the free rootsweb World Connect Project are repeating the same info in family trees they are posting online. WWW, Jr (1872-1958) was my husband’s grandfather.
Correct info is:
William Weldon Watson, Jr b.9/7/1872 d.2/24/1958
Thomas Tolman Watson b.4/28/1876 d.3/23/1930
Henry Paddock Watson b.Abt 1883 d.Abt 1884
Dudley Crafts Watson b.4/28/1885 d.12/24/1972
Bertram Augustus Watson b.1/1/1887 d.1/4/1945
Garnett B. Watson b.8/5/1891 d.
Another infant did not survive, name date of birth unk.
