I started having trouble with Nelson Craft born 3 April 1833 in Miss -m- Ellender Lewis 3 Sept 1831 in Miss. My trouble was that when I pulled the 1850 Smith County Census I found James Craft age 54 M, Susan age 54 F, Giles XX M, Aleena Stephens 18 F, (Capey?) 16 F, (XXXXX) 14 M, Nelson 12 M, Simion 10 M, John 8 M, and under the same roof another Nelson Craft 17 M.

This makes the Nelson Craft listed at the bottom of the household out of sinc with the other children, in my mind, a relative. Being 17 his birthdate actually fits the 1833 date. Where the Nelson 12 M listed in the children line up is abt 1838 birthdate.

I then went to the 1860 Census of Alexandria, Rapides Parish Louisiana and found Nelson Craft 27 M, Ellender 29 F, Mary 8 F, James 6 M, Nancy 5F, Charles 3 M, Frederick 9/12. Being 27 puts this Nelson born in 1833 so to me this says that James Craft and Susan are not this Nelsons parents. Let us discuss......
