Hi, this is Patricia Dolan. I am using my Aunt Nita's sign-on information. She said she spoke to you some time back about our family history. My mom and grandmom have both passed away and they had a lot of information on our family and we're trying to trace all our roots. I've been fascinated for a long time by a picture my grandma used to have by her bedside of an an indian woman in full garb standing next to a man in complete cowboy outfit. I believe those were my great grandparents or great-great grandparents but I can't be for sure. I've been wanting to trace my roots ever since then but haven't been able to for lack of knowledge on how to do so. I'm hoping you can help me. I'm not interested in anything except knowing my roots and being able to share that info with my son. He learned from my ex-husband's mother that there is Blackfoot Indian on their side and I know we have Cherokee on our side. It's fascinating. Anyway, I know this post is 4 years old but I'm hoping you still use this address and would be willing to respond back to me and help me out.

In response to your questions, there is an SBaker on here who has information on this same family line as well and you two might be able to collaborate and get a more complete record.

If you would like, you can email me directly at patricia.dolan@us.army.mil

Thanks!

Patricia Dolan

Actually I just made a trip to Craft Cemetery in Vernon Parish on May 4 and photographed abunch of the tombstones. I am slowly adding them to my ancestry.com tree. I will add you as a family editor so you can see what I've got in that branch of the family. thanks again for your response. Robert Guy

Hi, your name is so familiar - I am wondering if we corresponded in the past. What are the dates on your Leah. I have a Leah Craft who married Stephen Wingate 2nd and Stephenson Long 1st. She was born in 1838 and was the daughter of Reuben and Artimissa Smith Craft. I have another in my database Leah Tilitha born 1873 to Nelson Anderson Craft and Catherine Elenor Lewis.
I read your post of 2007. Some of the children in the household of James and Susanna Craft in 1850 were the children of John Stephens. You may already know this, if not I will be glad to share what I know. There was a Nelson Stephens and a Nelson Craft. I show Nelson Anderson Craft born April 3, 1833 the son of Susanna Barnet and James Craft.

Kevin, I know this is late, but I had an uncle, David Spencer Craft and his wife, Julia Landis Craft, who lived in Staunton for many years. He was a dispatcher for the police/sheriff's dept. They had no children, and have been dead for many years now. He was originally from Craig Co, Va., son of Charles LaFayette and Florence Hancock Craft.

You can e mail me @dgibby@aol.com. My father was Robert Frazier Craft, son of Charles LaFayette Craft and Florence Belle Hancock. The original line is through Benjamin Richard Craft and Sarah (Sally) Becker(or Spencer) depending on which family tree you're looking at!

Re: two Joseph W. Crafts parents unknown

My husband has Crafts in his family and Joseph Whitney Craft was in Oklahoma, not sure where he was born, and he was married to Gertrude Spurlock. He was a brother to my husband's grandmother, Beryl Josephine Craft, and her parents' names were Whitney Craft and Theressia Elsa Tucker.
Beryl was born July 10, 1894 and died in Oklahoma June 7,
1979, in Oklahoma. The family thinks that the family came
from Alabama around Athens? Please keep in touch as we are
going to see my husband's aunt and she should have some information.
