According to the 'Essential Bluegrass' which was part of the Herald Leader newspaper in Lexington, Ky today which is Sept, 19, 2004- I found this info about John Craig.
This info might help others as well as myself to find their Craigs.

The Valley View Ferry which is located in Jessamine County, and shuttles between Jessamine, Fayette and Madison counties in Kentucky was begun in 1785. It is the oldest ferry in continual operation west of the Appalachian Moutains. The paddlewheerler is named for JOHN CRAIG, the Revolutionary War veteran who obtained the franchise to run the ferry at its present location.
Camp Nelson and High Bridge are located on the banks of the Ky River also but I am not sure how close it is to the ferry.
Camp Nelson, 6 miles south of Nicholasville, Ky was a supply depot and training camp for Union soldiers; including many African Americans who fought for the North.
Not too far away is the Jim Beam Nature Preserve and Palisades which has a hiker trail.
In the county also is the High Bridge Park train bridge and the Ky. River Gorge.
Near this area of Nicholasville is Wilmore.
When I was little my father used to take me to High Bridge and the Park Palisades and his family of Greggs who later lived in Scott County, Ky did live in Wilmore.
This made me wonder if this John Craig could be my John Gregg which our family needs to find in order to get the missing info for our family. Dad and others said many times our Gregg name was changed from Grigg or Craig?????
CAN ANYONE TELL ME MORE ABOUT HIS JOHN CRAIG? I decided since I cannot find a Henry and John Gregg I will look into the Craig name. Any info would be helpful. ******************
