Mary H. Cralle/Williams

Mary H Cralle may have married Joseph Williams in Northumberland County, VA in
1777. This is not my direct line so I have not done the research. Mary H was the
daughter of John Cralle (b.1730 d. 1813) and Sarah Harding, Humphrey, m. 1755. Sarah
was the daughter of Wm Harding and Sarah Ball. This John Cralle’s parents were John
Cralle of St Stephens parish, Northumberland, VA, and Hannah Kenner, Hull, Harris, Cralle. His grandfather was Capt. John Cralle, the first Cralle ancestor found in VA.

Another Williams researcher has suggested Mary H. could have been Mary K. for
Kenner, not Mary H. as in Harding. That would fit a marriage he found for Mary Kenner
Cralle and Joseph Williams, 17 June 1777. A daughter Elizabeth Kenner Williams was
born 7 April 1778, and daughter Catherine Williams born 5 July 1781.

The only Mary Kenner Cralle I have found was born too late for a marriage in 1777.
However, Rodham Kenner Cralle (b. 1731 d. 1761) (brother of John Cralle 1730-1813)
also had a daughter Mary by his wife Elizabeth Straughan, Middleton. Perhaps she was Mary Kenner Cralle to distinguish from a cousin Mary Harding Cralle? Just adding to
the confusion, but it would fit nicely for naming a daughter Elizabeth Kenner Williams.

Good luck searching this one out. Please, post if you find anything worthwhile.
