We went to an estate sale in Rochester/Charlotte NY and bought a number of photos of the Cranch family who lived at 22 Meech St in Charlotte, near Rochester. The family names were Eliot, baby John- I believe the grandfather was Edward-the doctor- we sold some items from him already. We are putting some of the photos of the children circa 1917 on ebay this week. our site on Ebay is shadesofthepast1- hope these are your relative. Susan

Hi Ivan,
My Gt. Grandmother was Ellen Cranch Murch, born 1861 in Batson, Salcombe, Devon (comes under Marlborough). Can go back beyond 1700, but have a big gap between that and Ellen, as there are several Cranch's who might be her father. If you can help with that, I might be able to give you info.! Look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes. Virginia.

My first record is Robert Winch Cranch Born Aug. 1,1789 @ Wolorth(?) Eng. Married Elizabeth Weston (Mar. 12, 1786-March 15, 1838) March 12, 1817 @ Stepeny Church... He died Dec. 30th, 1878. They had 6 children James Robert, Frederick, Robert Winch, James Charles Winch (March 21, 1823- Oct. 8,1895)(the one made reference to)Julia Elizabeth. Interestingly, there are as many Cranches in Australia New Zealand as there are in Canada. Perhaps by comparing notes we can solve the mystery? Met one in Auckland, Raymond James, in 1998. My Grand father awas James Charles Robert, one of 13 to which you also made reference to. Keep in touch.

cranch@cnwl.igs.net
