Classification: Query
Surnames: CRARY, HEMENWAY
I am absolutely stumped here! My gr grandmother was Carrie M Crary, born in Dec 1858 in Monroe Co, WI. She had an older sister Jennie. Her mother was Eliza Ann (possibly, but not certain, her maiden name was Hemenway). Carrie and Jennie's father was Carlos, Carles or Charles S Crary. When I look at the census record it looks like it could be Carlos or Carles, but I am wondering if it could be Charles but the census taker wrote it incorrectly? His middle initial is clear, an "S." I believe that he was born abt 1831 in Vermont and died before March of 1864 in Wisconsin, when Eliza married a BURROUGHS person. I need to find any and all records on Carles/Carlos/Charles. I have been studying the census records from Vermont for that time frame and from all of the CRARYs listed it seems his father was most likely (not positive here) Isaac Crary. I do not want to state that as a positive thing as I really do not know. I am on a limited budget (permananet diasability) and cannot afford to search Ancestry.com or other cost intensive sites. If any of you have knowledge of my gr gr grandfather and the family I would be much obliged.
Thank you in advance,
