I think we are family in some way. My great grandfather was Willie Crase, and his Father was Monroe Crase, if I remember correctly. I know in some of the info I received, a Campbell Crase was listed on there, I think it said he was a pastor? Anyway, it would be neat to share info!

Thank you so much for your reply. I did find out from Lisa's father, Scott, that she had been on-line searching to find information about the Crase family for him. Our mother was born in British Columbia, Canada. He needed
information about our mother because her birth information had been destoyed in a fire. He is remarried to a canadian woman where he now resides,thanks to Lisa's help.

Thank you so much for your reply. I never got a reply from Lisa and am so sad to hear of her death. My relationship is not with the Crase family. I am related to Purl Jenkins and was interested in finding out if anyone knew if they had children and where they were. Jenkins is a very popular name, as are my Wilson line. Was also hoping to obtain a photo of Purl and his family.

I just happened to be looking up some information about the Crase family & saw that there was information from anyone in Michigan.
Was really surprised to see that Lisa had sent a message out march 28, 2001, trying to get more information on the Crase family. I live in Port Huron, mi.

I am researching for William Crase from Tn. that marr: my ggreat aunt sarah day ( aunt sadie) She was marr: to lonnie Petty had daughter named Thelma Petty.Bill Crase worked in Birmingham, Al. Thelma marr: Albert Jacobs and moved to Atlanta. Don't know when William or aunt sadie died, but I met him about 1955, and she was dead then.He owned a farm either in Blount co or Cullman could be where they are buried. I think this may be the same family line I am looking for! All I know is my great grandfather was named Willie Crase, he married Mary Bentley and my grand mother's name was Bertha Jean. She had a lot of brothers and 1 sister, Grace. Some of her brothers were Henry, Carter Ewing, Bruce, and I can't remember the rest. Any relation??

Frank A. Crase was educated in Michigan, left school at age 15, and located to Butte, MT, 17 Aug. 1894.

In 1894, Calumet, MI, Frank married Miss Edith T. Robert, daughter of John F. and Henrietta (Brunn) Robert, the former being a direct descendent of Colonel Robert who served in the American Revolution and was married to a sister of Lafayette. Crase children: Ethel; Frederick Robert.

I am not sure where they are from. Gertrude Crase 8/29/1904-7/30/1943. Her parents are Joseph Crase 1857-1933 & Anna Crase 1869-1940. That is all I know. Hope this helps.

I am trying to locate the death notice of Cora Crase. She was born in 1891 in Morgan Co. Ky, the dau of Preston Crase and the twin of Logan Crase. She was my great aunt and we spent lots of time with her when we were young. The last I heard of her she lived around Covington Ky, Kenton County.

I was at the Wheelrim United Baptist Church Sunday, October 10, 2004 and I talked to Maxine Crase Patrick. I finally remembered to asked her about your grandmother Hettie----She said she died when she was about 33 years old. That the children ( Mayo Taulbee, Betty Jean ---she lives in Verona, KY, Maggalee , Leo Taulbee, Mabelee Taulbee Ritchie----she is in the Nim Henson Geriatric Center here in Jackson, KY .

She said then Oak went to the Army and his mother kept the children then Maxine said she kind of loss track of them.

I know it took a while for me to answer your post but it's been a bit hectic lately and this is the first time I've had a chance to come back to this board.

To answer your question about my grandmother's parents names, they were, Henry Clay Crase and Rebecca Taylor. My grandmother's name was Ruby May Crase. She passed away in Jan. of 1989. My aunts, her daughters, did a genealogy background on her a few years back and made a copy for my mom and the rest of the siblings. I made a copy for myself and still have it. According the the info. I have, Mahala is the sister of my great-grandfather (my grandmother's dad). I have it that Mahala married William Weaver, as you had said in your reply. I have a birthyear for Mahala of 1878 but no actual birthdate. I'm assuming the 1878 to be right. I don't have a death year for Mahala. I don't have a birth or death date for William Weaver.

I have the names of Mahala's and Henry Clay's parents and siblings and siblings spouse's. I also, have some birth and death dates. I have Mahala's and Henry Clay's genealogy going back another 5 or 6 generations on the Crase side of the family.
If you are interested in more information on them let me know.

Also, I would be interested in the Weaver connection to the family. I have just started getting into the genealogy of my family recently and am looking on both sides of my family and my husband's family. So far, I've only have information on my mom's mom and my dad's dad side of the family.

Hi Donna, I am also related to the Crase family. My Mom was a Crase out of Morgan County Ky. The Peter Crase that was Henry's Son married Mary Ellen Davis. There are several men named Peter but Andy was Peter and Mary Ellen's son. I actually met Andy a few times he was a cousin to my mom who was Cassie Crase dau of George W and Mary Jane Elam Crase. I need to clarify the information about my grandmother. Like I said, her name was Ruby Mae Crase. Her father was Henry Clay Crase. James Emmitt was Henry Clay's brother and Mahala was there sister. In my earlier post it seemed, as though, I was saying that my grandmother was Emmitt's and Mahala's sister. Sorry about how that came out! Also, I sorry for the double post. Two of my aunts researched our family tree a few years back and I have some of the information they found.

My name is Regina Ramirez. My grandmother was Ruby Mae Crase of Letcher Co., Kentucky (city of Millstone). Her
father's name was Henry Clay Crase and had a brother named James E. (Emmitt) Crase. They had a sister named Mahala (maybe that's the Jalia/Julia?). There was no sister by the name of Jalia/Julia but Mahala seems similar to Jalia.
Mahala was born in 1878, I believe in Letcher Co., Ky. There were 11 siblings total. There parents were James Crase and Elizabeth Stallard (maybe instead of the Staliers/Stalien.

That is the information that I have. It all seems to be a good possibility that may be the information that you are looking for. If you find out this is the information that you are looking for, I do have some more information that I can send you.

My mother was a Crase and I, too, am related to Peter Crase. I show him married to Anney Adams, not Olivia Walters. Perhaps he was married again after the death of Anney. Have lots of info on them. They came from Germany and spoke the Dutch language.

I want to remind all of you that the 3rd Annual Eastern CRESS Reunion will be in Kingsport, TN on Sunday, July 27. It will be at the Eastman Recreation Area as before and will start about 10:00am and close at 4:00pm.
I am hoping to see all of last year¹s faces but also hopeful to meet some new faces this year.

As before I will make copies of Edgar Cress¹ 1985 book on the Descendants of George Cress (725 pages). I will also make some copies of my 1,000 page report on all known descendants of Rev. War George. My report will be an
improved format which shows the ancestry of each individual. It contains many more descendants than Edgar¹s book (although his book contains wonderful stores and pictures). Through added research, my report will have
600-800 more people in it than it did last year. Given the cost of photocopying them, I plan on only making enough copies of each to cover orders. Edgar¹s book will cost $35 and my report will cost $40.

Other features of the reunion:
As last year, I will bring the 4 generation family tree showing
descendants of Nicholas Cress. I plan on making a similar family tree showing descendants of George ³Crace.² I will also bring the map which shows my ideas on migration routes of Rev. War George and his children.

As last year, I will bring my computer and my printer/scanner.
Therefore, if you have old family photos, bring them so I can scan them to share as interest dictates.

Please respond if you plan on coming and tell me how many will be in your group.
Also specifically tell me if you want to reserve a copy of Edgar¹s book or a copy of my family report.

I have been searching for information on this line and have some information but it is limited. My grandmother was Lona Crase, daughter of George Crase and Elizabeth Calihan, George is son of A.J. Crase and Nancy Caudill. My grandmother married my grandfather and moved to Bath Cty, Ky. She died when my mother was only 10 years old and we have had no real information on this line. I would love to find out who Elizabeth Calihan was. I have pictures that were in Lona's possession and my great aunt gave them to me. My aunt has some letters from George Crase with names of aunts & uncles. I have copies.
