My grandmother, Pauline Creal, married to Raymond Creal, son of Charles, son of Charles, son of Hiram, son of James, wrote a biographical history of what she knew of my grandfather's family. She wrote it in 2001, died in 2011, and I didn't know about it until after her passing. I've posted some "stories" on this site pertaining to her biography.

The biography only mentions Charles E. Creal briefly, saying he was a physician and graduated from Columbia, which I've concluded based on records. His wife was never mentioned, and I don't have proof of her name. Most of my grandmother's biography is regarding my grandfather's birth, childhood and young adulthood, and then her own.

I am in the process of collecting family records and other information and creating a book of sorts, using the information she provided me in her biography as well as historical records I'm finding online.

Yes, he's my 4th great grandfather. I'm just not sure if Emanuel is his father. I don't have anything to substantiate his parentage... and beyond Emanuel Creal, I've hit a dead end.

Hello, I believe I am descendant of Emanuel Creal of New York based only on the searches I have been able to do here. Any additional information you have on the Creals would be appreciated as I am putting together a family history for my father's generation.

I only have a historical "story" back to Charles E Creal, my great-great grandfather. I realize you're looking down a different line. Just throwing it out there.

Kylene>Kenneth Creal>Raymond Creal>Charles R Creal>Charles E Creal> Hiram Creal>James Creal>Emanuel Creal

Emanuel Creal

Did Thomas and Elizabeth (Eames) Williamson have a daughter named Hannah or Honorita, old enough to marry before 1770? Thomas was the son of John and Magdalena (Wynant) Williamson, who married in 1687, and the name of Wynant appears as a Christian name in the family of Hannah (Williamson) Creal, as does Anthony, and Eames. The above Hannah or Honoritia, married Emanuel Creal prior to 1770, and may have been living in 1790, when her husband appears as the head of household of three sons under sixteen and three females, the oldest son evidently already married and living elsewhere. Where did these Williams live and what is known of them and the Creals.

Creal/Dearman/Stapleton

My Creel's are from MS & AL. Elijah Creel, (b abt 1845, d 1899) and Laviney or Leviney (Vina for short) Dearman [1] Creal (d Aug 1929) were my g-grandparents, both living in Lauderdale County, MS (abt 1865) and moved on to Moblie County, AL (and both died there too). My Grandfather Hardy Creal/Creel told me that Elijah's brother Barry (or Berry) Creel, his wife and their children lived in Mobile County, AL also. Hardy talked about a cousin named Barney Creel,(of AL) does anyone have any info on him? BTW... As written on AL records-- The census taker wrote the surname for Laviney or Leviney (Vina for short) Dearman Creel and all her & Elijah's children as "CREAL" and not "CREEL" on 1900 Alabama Census Mobile County. She is listed as Viney Creal. Her living grandchildren told me Vina could not read or write very well. Vina remarried to [2]Joe (or Joseph) Stapleton, in Mobile Co., AL, her husband died abt 1923; they had 2 sons, Frank and Joe. Some of the children of Elijah & Vina kept the Creal surname, others used the Creel surname, but all are from the Elijah and Vina Creel family line. I was told when their son Hardy (& his [2] wife Della Wiggins) Creal found out that the family name was not Creal; they stopped using it and went back to CREEL. That is why 1/2 of their ~13~ children surnames are spelled Creal and the other half other of the ~13~ children are spelled CREEL. My Dad's is Creel. His brothers are spelled Creal. Any info on Elijah or Vina would be great. thanks. kendrick_@webtv.com Creal/Dearman/Stapleton/Creel
