Daniel Creamer 1798 South Carolina

I have been working on Daniel for some time and wanted to share what I have been doing. Many have posted that Daniel was the son of Christian Creamer who is listed in the Orangeburg South Carolina census records. If you go by what the census record tell us this can not be so. In 1800 Daniel would have been about 2 years old, yet Christian had no children of that age in 1800.

So then I find Absolom Creamer who in 1800 states that he does have a male of that age, yet when I looked at the tree's posted on Ancestry he is not Absoloms son.

James Creamer the son of Absolom was my only clue, and I thought I would look harder at his info. The trees listed on Ancestry say that Daniel was not his son.

James moved to Georgia in the 1830's and so did Daniel. Daniel and Martha had a few kids in Georgia. I find it strange that Daniel moved to Georgia at the same time as James Creamer, son of Absolom, and then down into Alabama, which some of Absoloms descendants also did and they not be related.

Daniel being born in South Carolina, moving to Georgia the same time as James who is also from South Carolina, to me there must be a connection somewhere.

Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

Just wondering if you have additional information on Nancy Creamer. My Nancy was born in SC in 1823. The main reason Im writing is i noticed that you have a Daniel Creamer b 1978 in SC and wife name is Martha born NC 1795. My Nancy married Thomas Dean b1823 in SC. Thomas and Nancy had a daughter named Martha (4 child). This may follow the old naming pattern for naming children after the Mother's mother. This is just a stab in the dark but I can not find anything about the Creamers in SC.. Thanks for any infor/. My web site on Ancestry.com is dean.

However, I still don't have the actual date of her death. I am working on it. Maybe it is on the headstone, if there is one. Do you know?

Still cannot find where William Russell is burried. Any thoughts on this?

I have lots of evidence for this family, but am missing a few key pieces of information.

Thank you for replying.
I believe we are working on the same family.
I found Frank Michael Creamer, born 1880---on the 1880 census with his parents--Frank( listed in an earlier census as Francis) and Kate (daughter of Lorenz -also Laurence- Sanders from Germany) Creamer. I found him in the city directory at 1705 O'Fallon Rd., the address where his wife Bessie died in 1924.
The branch of the family I am researching is this Frank's brother Joseph F. Creamer, born 1883, who worked as a baker.
I traced Frank (1840/1844-1919),the first Frank born in Missouri, back and found a man named Frank-or Franz-living in Missouri and working as a boilermaker. There is an Elizabeth Creamer, "widow of Franz," on the 1872 St. Louis City Directory. But there were lots of Creamers in Missouri and I have no proof that he is Frank's father or she is the right widow. However, his occupation suggests he could be related--maybe an uncle--who helped his brother's sons get employment.
I would be glad to send you my write up of the family and photos. It would be fabulous if you had a photo of the Frank, Kate's husband, who died in 1919. (When his granddaughter died her mother burned lots of family documents and pictures!!) Hope to hear from you.

Like father, like son? Frank-1844-1919 was not living with his wife or children in 1910. His wife Kate, listed as "married" on the 1910 census, was living with a private family and employed as a housekeeper. I could not find Frank in 1910. Kate died from cancer in 1914. Her husband was living at Father Dempsey's Hotel when he died in 1919 from "chronic interstial nephritis." Both are buried in Calvary Cemetery---together.
Both Frank and his brother Clemens reported that their mother and father were born in Germany on the censuses. I believe their father died in July 1852. Their mother remarried and can be found with her new husband Timothy Callahan and her Creamer children( although that name is misspelled) on the 1860 St. Louis census. That's where the Irish part comes in. Maybe going to an Irish Catholic church--instead of a German one--caused some confusion.
Then there's Frank---born in 1840 or 1844 in Missouri and died in St. Louis in 1919. By 1872 he had married Catherine Sanders( born in Missouri in 1855) of a German father and a mother of German heritage who had been born in NY. They had 14 children--11 of whom survived in 1900---according to the 1900 census for St. Louis.

Frank Creamer was born about 1846 in St. Louis to Caspar ( or John Caspar)Creamer, who was born in Germany. Frank,(also found as Francis) was a boilermaker in Missouri in the late 1800s. He married Kate( Catherine) Sanders, had 11 children and died in 1919. His older brother "Clemens"( also found as John C.) married Johanna Butler in St. Louis,Missouri on 6 Sept. 1872. Does anyone connect to this family?
I'd say that Frank, III was totally German since his parents and grandparents were German. But---what about Bessie Allred? Maybe she was Irish and that's where the idea came from. By 1840/44, and then 1855 when Kate Sanders was born, your ancestors were all born in the US. Joseph F. Creamer, born 1883 in MO, married a woman of German heritage--Amelia Colleng, whose parents (Otto Colleng and Amelia Kallies)were born in Germany and came to the US before the Civil War.

My grandfather (Frank Jr's son) was of the impression that the Creamers were Irish (and went to his grave believing himself to be of Irish decent). Another lady I am in correspondence with gave the clue of Germany instead of Ireland, and it appears you have further evidence of the "Germany vs. Ireland" question.

By any chance, do you know where in Germany William Sanders was from? I lived in Germany myself for two years, and I have to admit, it'd give me a big chuckle if I just happened to live near where my ancestors came from.

Thank you.

I'll ask my Aunt JoAnn if she might have any pictures of Francis Creamer, Sr (he would be her great-grandfather). I have to caution that may not be likely, because Francis Creamer, Jr., abandoned his children after his wife Bessie died, so there were some hard feelings there. I'll see what I can find, and would love to see what information you have.

I *might* possibly have a connection, but I'm not sure. I have a Francis (Frank) Creamer Jr in my family tree, but he was born in 1880. His father was Francis (Frank) Creamer Sr., and I've heard (but haven't been able to confirm) that he was born in the 1840s and was a boilermaker.

The Frank Creamer in my family tree was born April 12, 1880 (birthplace uncertain to us at this time, we believe St. Louis) and died January 7th, 1946, in St. Louis. He was married to a Bessie Allred.

Charles Ray Creamer, Waldoboro, Maine and Cambridge, Mass.

I have no connection to this family but found this while doing other research. This appeared in the Feb. 18, 1911 issue of the Rockland (Maine) Gazette in the "Stickney Corner" (Stickney Corner is in Washington on the way to Waldoboro) column:

"It was with sadness that word was received here Friday night that Charles Ray Creamer, a native of Waldoboro, late of Cambridge, Mass., had committed suicide by shooting himself. Mr. Creamer had for years peddled clams and fish through here and by his pleasant smile had won a host of friends. The cause of his doing the rash act was that he was in love with Miss Enah Orff, the daughter of Byron Orff of Lawrence, Mass., who jilted him the evening before. He was a kind and affectionate son and great sympathy is expressed for the family in their great sorrow."

Related to a Marien/Marion Creamer? Photo posting

I have a photo of Marion and his wife who were currently in Port St. Joe, Florida at the time the photo was taken. The clothing tells me it was maybe between 1900s-1920s. Does this sound like someone you could be related to? I'm trying to identify the picture and need help. Thank you for your time.

Re: Lawrence Cramer, Hessen Hanau Regiment

I've done a little more research since my last posting. Lorenz Kraemer was born in Essenheim, Hesse, Germany on 8/19/1756. So, he was actually 19 years old when he enlisted in January 1776. His parents were Johannes Kraemer and Ursula Klein. The Evangelical Reform Church has records on his family going back to the early 1600's.
