Hi;
I have more information on Mary "Mollie" Creasy.
Mary (Mollie) Creasy was born Feb 1870 in Decatur Co., TN. Her father was Bird S.
Re: LEONARD (JACK) BUFORD CREASY-SON OF EFFIE MAE CREASY

I located his death certificate at WV site, it lists cause of death as being caught between coal mine car and top of mine resulting in crushing injury to chest. Death certificate lists parents as Jessie Creasey (that is the way it is spelled) and Effie Doolie or Doolis, I can't tell for sure. Lists job as a brakeman for Kingston Coal Company. Place of burial is difficult to read but looks like Montrol, VA. I also found an infant's death certificate that lists Leonard Creasey and Mable Vanhorn as parents, he may have remarried? The infant was Jackie May Creasey and she died at 11 months on Sept. 30, 1936 in McDowell WV. Leonard's death certificate lists the informant as Mable Vanhorn Creasey. I cannot find their marriage record, only the one to Katie Clark. 1930 census of Logan, WV lists Leonard and Katie Cresey (that is how it is spelled) ages 26 and 19, with no children. He is working in coal mine at that time. I have no connection to your Creasy family, mine is from TN, but just wanted to help. Hope this answers some of your questions.

I am looking for my great uncle Leonard(Jack)Creasy. I have some information about him and I remember my Granny Nez talking about him as I was growing up. It was her brother and from what I understand he went to West Virginia and met and married a girl named Katie Clarke. I have pictures that belonged to my great grandma Effie of Jack and Katie. I am told they were married around October, 1927. Somehow the story goes he and Katie separated/divorced? and he wound up dead/killed/murdered? in West Va. Granny Effie and relatives had to go to West VA and claim the body and bring him back here. I don't know where he's buried and I want to know the truth about what happened. I can't find him on the 1930 Census even though he didn't die until around August 2, 1937. If you have any info or know anyone who have info about my uncle PLEASE contact me. This has haunted me since I was a little girl. Please help!!!

I am trying to find out who the John in the will of 1750 is and how he is connected to Charles. Their are so many Johns and I have hit a brick wall.

Still looking for my John Creasy Virginia

First, Let me state that I have lost everyones emails that I have be communicating with concerning this family due to a computer crash. So, please contact me again.

I am still looking for John Creasey(many spellings found with the family). I have him born 1799 Cumberland County VA. Birth date is listed as 03 Jun 1799. I am going off all the papers that my late uncle left me. So, I am needing help verifying dates and people. I know that this John was married to Martha Ann Edwards 17 Oct 1827 Cumberland County VA. This family moved to Missouri shortly after John's fathers death. His father was Charles Creasy. His death was in 1834. His wife Anna Unknown. I have two sons for Charles and Anna. John and William. William married Elizabeth Unknown. He moved from VA and settled either in TN or Missouri. I have no verifing information on him.

Charles Creasy's father was John Creacy(many spellings to this surname). I have his petition for pension stating he was 80 yrs old at the time of petition which was in KY and his date of birth was 1754. Also with these papers was the will of a John Creasy in 1750. I believe this John to be the father of Charles. I also have papers stating that Charles let his father John live on his land for free.

I have also found this:
16 November 1742. Deed: Thomas Walton to John Creasy, 100 acres on
Little Deep Run [Goochland DB 1742-1749, p.89]. JCREA742. Data com-
plete.

This is the family I need to find. In Charles Creasy's will he leaves to his sons John and William and wife Anna the land on Little Deep Run. Any help with these families would be greatly appreciated. I am willing to share any information that I have with you . Thanks

Eunice/Unis Creasy/Creasey and Samuel Davidson-Bedford, VA

Does anyone know what happened to the subject couple? They were married in Bedford Co., VA in 1791. There was a Samuel Davidson on the 1820 Bedfrord Co., VA census (over 45 years of age) with a wife and family, so I suppose that COULD have been them.

In 1830 in Bedford, a younger Samuel Davidson (age 30-40) appeared on the census, and in his household was a much older women (age 60-70). Maybe that was a son of the older Samuel Davidson, and maybe the older women in the home was his mother Eunice (Creasy) Davidson.

In 1840, however, a Samuel Davidson appeared on the census who was age 70-80 (so was that a different/maybe unrelated Samuel Davidson, or was the one who married Eunice Creasy still alive in 1840 after all?), and a women was in his home (among some younger males and females) who was also age 70-80 (was that Eunice or was this a totally different Davidson family)?

In 1850, an 87 year-old Samuel Davidson from PA appeared, and he had apparent children and/or grandchildren (or maybe daughter-in-laws for the women) in his home who were born in VA (ages ranged from the 30s to the 50s) and who were named Thomas, Jonathon, George, Lucy and Nancy Davidson.

Note: In 1822, a Edmund T. Davidson married a Mary Higginbotham in Bedford Co., VA, and a Thomas Davidson provided surety. MAYBE that was the above Thomas Davidson (shown as age 57 on the 1850 census, but I wonder if he was actually older...I have found many "bad" ages on Bedford Co., VA censuses from one decade to the next). Edmund T. Davidson was shown on the same page of the 1830 Bedford Co., VA census as Samuel Davidson.

Note: The Meredith Davidson who also showed on several Bedford Co., VA censuses in the 1800s was married in Botetourt Co.,VA in 1824, and a Samuel Davidson was witness or surety for the marriage of Meredith Davidson to Vesta/Festa Peel. That APPEARS to have been a totally unrelated Davidson family.

Comments on the above Samuel Davidson and Eunice Creasy?

I have a Creasy cousin named Flora Belle. She was born around 1917 in Qulin MO, I think. My dad last remembers seeing her when her mother, Mary "Mollie" Williamson Creasy, died about 1947. She was living in Qulin. Her father was William "Billy" F. Creasy. She had a brother named Porter and one named Dossie. I was told that she married a Pratt, first name unknown and that she had two sons and two daughters. I would appreciate any information on her or her family. Thanks
Charlotte McClain Christensen

I am hitting a wall connecting all the dots. I have found from my uncles estate documents from this family. I know that Charles passed in 1834 in Virginia. His will lists his wife Anna and two sons John and wife Martha and William and wife Elizabeth. Anna, John and William leased the family's land in 1836 to William C. Talley. I have papers from 1799 stating that Charles let a John Creasey Sr., his father, live on his land and papers for John Sr's petition for pension stating his birth was in 1754 in Cumberland County Virginia. At the time of this petition he was 80 years old. His pension was started on June 6, 1834. I do know that John and Martha Edwards Creasey left Virginia in 1837 and moved to Missouri, but not sure what happened to William and his family. This family is some how connected to a Peter F. Creasey born in Virginia and died in Missouri. Any help would greatly be appreciated. I am willing to share any information that I have.

Research on Creasy's from VA

Hi, my name is Amanda Creasy and I am trying to research the Creasy name. My husbands family originates from Washington County Virginia, and I have tracked it to a gentleman name Nimrod Creasy. Every census I have looked at has a different spelling for the last name (Creecy, Cresy, etc). If anyone has any kind of information to share I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I am looking for information on the other two, as well as more information on the two living children.

I have that Milton Bibbons? CREASY moved to the Pittsburg area sometime between 1910 and 1920. He married Elizabeth Irene CLEAVER, and had a son, Maxwell Cleaver CREASY m. Gladys M UNKNOWN and had a son Maxwell Cleaver
CREASY Jr born around Jun 1929 (sometimes seen as Cleaver Maxwell).

I "believe" that Harry B CREASY married a Martha UNKNOWN and had a daughter Harriet B b. Abt Nov 1909. Harry lived in Catawissa in 1900, but had moved across the river to Bloomsburg by 1910. I think I found him in Davenport Iowa in 1920.

If you have any information on this line of descendants, I would be most interested.

Sincerely,
Glenn S.
