Does anyone know who was the father of Isom Creek? I find Isom listed on some files as the son of Wm. Richmond Creek b. May 8, 1811 m. Oct 19, 1831. However, Isom married Nancy Cannon 1825......that would make his father Wm. Richmond 14 yrs old on his son Isom's wedding day???? That is my family line and I find it to be quite scrambled. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Kathi Jo

decendant of Pierson/Pearson. Seeking info on him and his line. Can find no record of his death. Using census for his approximate birth date. 1840 Gibson Co., Montgomery Twp.Indiana he is listed as Person Creek in 20-30 age group. 1850 [same area] Pearson,35,and Lucinda 26, Eliza E. 8, James W. 7, Trafton 9mo., 1860 [same area]Pearson not there, Lucinda [appears to read Lewand] 39, Jas. W. 17, Trafton 10, Mary A. 3, Genetta 11mo. [my gggrmother], listing above theirs is Eliza E. 17 wife of Marida Waters 19. 1870[same area] Is a Lucinda Creek 42, Mary 12, Linda [?]10, Merida Watters 27 farm hand, Trafton 20 has married a Mary and moved away [same area] , now I've lost Eliza E. and Genetta, who later marries gggf Nathan Moutray [Montry] Genetta [who in letters spelled her name with a J] is photographed with me at 1 mo. old in Nov 1945. She marries 3 more times, to Charles Morehouse, a Rauson/Rawson and lastly to a Richard Hardy. A Genetta Hardy is buried in New Harmony Any help adding more pieces or verifiying what I have would be very appreciated. [Just wait til I ask about Isham/Isom and nephew Isom!].....by the way, I have this idea that everyone in 1850 Gibson Co. census who was born in Indiana is listed as being born in Iowa, because the census taker was using a different or wrong abbreviation. In later records they're all listed as being born in Indiana

ISAAC CREEK / CLAY - WAYNE COUNTY ILLINOIS

I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I'm trying to determine if Isaac Creek who eventually married Nancy Hoddy in Clay Co. Il 07/07/1831 also had children by the name of Jacob, Esau, and John. The probate record I have for Isaac Creek dated January of 1854 mentions these three names and no others. It's possible Jacob may have gone by the name Amos, I'm uncertain.

In the 1850 census record, there's a son Isaac listed in Isaac (Sr.) and Nancy's home. (Is this the son of Nancy and Isaac? Or, is this son of another son named Isaac who may have died, and is it his probate record I have?) The name on this 1850 record has been transcribed as Israel, but his age is 13 and not 12, if one looks at the record they can see the two's are written quite differently than the three,s. This Isaac eventually married Rebecca A. Walston, and her siblings married other Creek family members. Isaac and Rebecca (Walston) Creek can be found on the 1860 enumeration; Isaac's age is noted as 23.

Jefferson Creek's son Isaac can be easily followed through the years to Kansas and up to his death in Missouri. His age also remains reasonably consistent through each successive enumeration.

I am searching for information about my heritage. My Gr-Grandfather was named Richard "Ritchie" Creek. I'm not sure where he was born, but I know he was born on June 11th, 1878. He married my Gr-Grandmother, Minnie Rebecca Richards and lived in Oklahoma. Thank you

CREEK, THOMAS E.; Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient - Vietnam

http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/mohviet.htm

**Awarded Posthumously.

CREEK, THOMAS E.
Rank and organization: Lance Corporal, U.S. Marine Corps, Company I, 3d Battalion, 9th Marines, 3d Marine Division (Rein), FMF. Place and date: Near Cam Lo, Republic of Vietnam, 13 February. 1969. Entered service at: Amarillo, Texas. Born 7 April 1950, Joplin, Mo. Citation:: For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while serving as a rifleman with Company 1 in action against enemy forces. L/Cpl. Creek's squad was providing security for a convoy moving to resupply the Vandegrift Command Base when an enemy command detonated mine destroyed 1 of the vehicles and halted the convoy near the Cam Lo Resettlement Village. Almost immediately, the marines came under a heavy volume of hostile mortar fire followed by intense small-arms fire from a well-concealed enemy force. As his squad deployed to engage the enemy, L/Cpl. Creek quickly moved to a fighting position and aggressively engaged in the fire fight. Observing a position from which he could more effectively deliver fire against the hostile forces. he completely disregarded his own safety as he fearlessly dashed across the fire-swept terrain and was seriously wounded by enemy fire. At the same time, an enemy grenade was thrown into the gully where he had fallen, landing between him and several companions. Fully realizing the inevitable results of his action, L/Cpl. Creek rolled on the grenade and absorbed the full force of the explosion with his body, thereby saving the lives of 5 of his fellow marines. As a result of his heroic action, his men were inspired to such aggressive action that the enemy was defeated and the convoy was able to continue its vital mission. L/Cpl. Creek's indomitable courage, inspired the Marine Corps and the U.S. Naval Service. He gallantly gave his life for his country.

I found that after posting my confused John Creek message, that there were 3 John Creeks who were combined into one person.
John Creek (son of Killion) was only married to Rebeckah Bush.
You can find correct info on him by searching rootsweb for John with spouce Rebeckah Bush (there is also info on her parents).

the second John Creek was married to Rebecca Wick (his father is unknown) and he was the father of John Creek who was married at least 3 times to Rebecca Waddle, Catherine Cart and Nancy Ann Collet.

This of course clears up why some of the children were born outside of their parent's marriage. I hope that this clears things up for everyone.

Surname: TIGER

Does any one lay claim to this Tiger family in the 1930 census in Bryan, Okmulgee? They are living with white men named Pugh.

Pugh, Virgil - 24 - S - Head - OK - KY - AR
Pugh, Burl - 19 - S - Brother - OK - KY - AR
Tiger, Bertha - 28 - Wd - Lodger - OK - Full Blood - Creek
Tiger, Elizabeth - 7 - S - Boarder - OK - Full Blood - Creek
Tiger, Thomas - 5 - S - Boarder - OK - Full Blood - Creek
Tiger, Eloise - 4 1/12 - S - Boarder - OK - Full Blood - Creek
Tiger, Elsie - 2 6/12 - S - Boarder - OK - Full Blood - Creek

Note that Bertha is a widow. I think these children were all put up for adoption. Their names would have been changed. I have not been able to find anything on these for Tiger children or Bertha, their mother, after this census. It's like the fell off the face of the earth.

I think Elizabeth is the mother of a friend of mine, who asked me to see what I can find on her family. Her mother was adopted, and than placed in a Catholic orphanage when the adoptive father died. If this is the right Elizabeth, she married, and has a family. Her husband was from Indiana. We have ordered her SS application. Her daughter has told me that her mother was born in Muskogee, and she remembered that her name was Florence Elizabeth. I have not been able to find a child named Florence, who would fit into this situation.

I realize this is like finding a needle in a haystack, but would appreciate anyone, who knows this family, to please contact me.

Thank you.

Tina Ellis

I am looking for information on Susannah Creek born 1763 in Lancaster County Pennsylvania and died April 8,1856 in Marine, Madison County, Illinois. She married Johannes (John) Giger on 2-1-1798 in Jefferson County Tennessee. Their son, William Giger, was the first child born in Saline Township Madison County Illinois in 1811. I have plenty of information on the Giger(Geiger) family. The Creeks and Giger families, are my ancestors, on my fathers' side.
Thanks,
Regenia Campbell

I am a Creek Descendant via Killian-Abraham-Jacob-Charles-etc. Charles was born in Misouri in 1829 and spent many years in Nevada as a miner. He died in 1917 and is buried in Tuscarora, NV. While in Nevada he married twice; first to "Minnie" McCreary and then to Theresa Messman. Charles and Theresa had a least three children; Florence Virginia b. 1882, Carl "Cleveland" Young b. 1884 and Charles Younger b. 1887. I'll be happy to share any info I have with other researchers.
John Creek Sr

I am getting confused. John Creek Sr(b: 1776- d: 1858) seems to have had 4 different wives, however some of the children from these wives don't seem to have been born inside the marriage to their listed mother. Catherine Cart m: 1798; Rebecca Bush m: 1800; Rebecca Waddle m: 1811; Nancy Ann Collett m: 1850.

There is also a lot of variation in the spelling of John Creek Sr's father: Killian Creek (aka Guillion Kreik, Killion Kreig and many other variations). I have also received a report that Killian is not the father of John Creek Sr.
I understand the miss-spellings, because it seems in my other families that no one seemed to care how their name was spelled (or were no literate enough to know).

What I would like is: Verification of John Creek's father and children please with sources.
Erminnie's Family is of Creek Indian. Her family at some time changed their name to Creek. Erminnie was born 10/20/1880 in Indiana. she died 10/28/1943. they had 8 children. Can anyone help me connect the creeks and Fairs. Erminnie was also in Dunning Nebraska. Terri
