Hi Shelia, it has been a while, hope all s well with you. I don't have any estate information on any of the fam extension lines, any leads on whom I should contact or resources? I haven't gone down this path yet but i do somewhere have a list of items purchased by Killion at Callends store before he left Virginia. This is thanks to Pat Hatcher who has written for ancestry in the past and is a professional. I can't remember which is her line though.

Robert Lee Creek's first wife was named Mittie. She died in 1909. Ted Creek was born in Grundy Co. TN, but moved to Alabama as a child. Jennifer if you contact me, I can give you the info that I have now. I can take you back at least 4 more generations. Robert Lee was born in Coffee County, TN instead of Oklahoma as we had always thought.

We've researched Killian pretty thoroughly and have found no indication that he was a soldier during the Revolution.

We think that Killian used his sons and sons-in-law to help with building. There are stone masonry tools and surveying tools listed in the estate papers of different members of the family. We know that, at least, one of Killian's Sandusky grandsons was a mason by trade.

Information on Killian Creek

I am doing some genealogy work for my friend, Brenda Creek. I have traced her family back to Killian Creek, the stonemason. She is descended from Killian - Jacob J. - Isham - Sylvester - Edwin - Eugene - Claud (her father). Have you ever found where Killian contributed to the American Revolution? Brenda is wanting to join the DAR through her Creek lineage. If none can be found, she has proof through one of the female lines.

The odd thing I have found is that Brenda's father, Claud, was known locally as an outstanding stonemason. Two of his brothers, Robert & Harvey, were also brickmasons. It seems that working as a stone/brickmason runs in the blood.

Any help on providing documented proof of this lineage would also be appreciated.

Thanks,

Deborra

I never knew of the Creek family until I started researching and you are right, it is huge - I have found it fascinating finding all these Creek "cousins".
It was proven a couple of years ago that Margaret Hollaway was NOT the wife of Killian Creek. No one was ever able to trace the origin of the name Halloway or who the 1st person was to use the Halloway name in connection with Killion.

The following Will is the new proof of Killian's wife Margaret's surname:

Abstracts of Wills of Lancaster County, PA 1732-1785

The will of Henry WEITZEL of Lancaster County, PA is the source for the marriage of Killion Creek and Margaret Weitzel. Will written Feb 9, 1776, probated May 1, 1776.

Will of Henry Weitzel.
Children: Martin, John, Elias, Margaret wife of Killian Kreeg, and Magdalena.
Executors were: Casper Snevely, John Ressly. They were of Lebanon Township.
Jacob's son Isom/Isam was in court two times in 1826 on charges of assault and battery. Subject : violence. State of Indiana vs. Creek, Isam Other names mentioned: John Carson, James Drake in one case and William Houchens, Peter Jones and Jacob Creek in another. Sounds like he was a trouble-maker
As for thr 4 spouces of Jacob I have only Jane Riggs, Salome(Salena) Watts and Mary Ann Price. Who else? I sure don't have all the kids. Only eight. Can you give them?
