CLUTE--Cecil Creekmore, 86, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 4,2005, at Village on the Creek Nursing Home in Clute where he had lived for the last year and one half.
Cecil was a member of University Baptist Church of Galveston where he served as a deacon and many other services. Cecil truly loved serving the Lord and helping other people. He was a member of VA Post 880 of Galveston, and served in WWII in New Guinea. He formerly lived in North Carolina and lived in Galveston for 48 years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marjorie; children, Terry Creekmore and wife, Shirley of Elm City, N. Carolina, Vickie Lou Bass and husband, Jacky of N. Carolina; 1 loving stepdaughter, Ann Lindsey and husband Dale, of Freeport; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Russell of Porter, Bill of Houston, Jim of Wilson, N. Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers; 1 stepdaughter, Lorene Arnett; and 2 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, October 8, 2005, at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute with Dr. George R. Ramsey officiating. Interment will be at 1 pm at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
Visitation will be Friday, October 7, 2005 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
