CARDINGTON: Viola I. Creasap, age 91, of Cardington, Ohio (Morrow County) died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Partners of Marion Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born September 26, 1919 in Applecreek, OH to the late John and Bessie (Giauque) Culbertson.
Viola was retired from Ranco in Delaware, Ohio. She loved to go camping at Hickory Grove Campground and was an avid card player, especially solitaire.
Along with her husband Virgil, Viola spent winters in Florida after her retirement. She was a fantastic cook at home, but never missed an opportunity to go "out" to eat.
On May 29, 1940 in London, OHIO, Viola married Virgil C. Creasap and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her step mother, Volina (Bach) Culbertson.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Duane "Butch" and Sandy Creasap of Mount Gilead, Ohio; grandchildren, Beth and Scott Martin of Edison and Dale Creasap of Cardington, Ohio; four grandchildren, Dustin and Ryan Creasap and Zachary and Alyssa Martin; three great-grandchildren, Bryce, Shelby, and Riley Creasap.
Friends may call Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington.
A graveside service will take place Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Glendale Union Cemetery with Pastor Andy Angel officiating.
