The Creasons are not a direct part of my ancestry, so I don't know too much about them. Charlie L. and Emma Lee Creason married grandchildren of William H. Harris of Graves County, KY. As far as I know both Charlie and Emma Lee as well as their father Milas Creason were born in Kentucky. Sorry, but I don't know about the origins of this Creason family beyond Milas. Good luck in your searching!

I know this totally not on the subject you are enquiring about, but I just wanted to know. My name is Robin and I'm from Waynesville NC. My father was Charlie Creson and his father was William Harrison Creson. Alot of my family uses the A in their last name. I think with the last name as so different that there can't be too many of us..think we are related?

Re: CHARLIE CREASON

I am particularly interested in the Creasons in Graves Co, KY, who married into the Harris family. Your grandfather Charlie Creason married a Jennie B. Harris. At about the same time, James Harris married a Jennie Creason. At the time of the 1900 census, these two families were living next door to each other in Graves County, KY. Adjacent to them was the household of a John G. Creason, aged 42, and his perhaps second wife Della, and several children.

I currently think that James and Jennie Harris were brother and sister and the children of William S. Harris and his wife Nancy. William S. Harris was a son of John H. and Mary B. Stevens Harris; and Mary B. Stevens Harris was a sister of my ancestor John Stevens -- all of whom lived in Graves Co, KY.

It seems likely to me that Charlie Creason and the Emmie/Emily/Emma Lee Creason who married the two Harrises were also brother and sister. Do you know whether or not that is true? Do you have any "proof" of the parents of Jennie Harris Creason?

If I am correct that James Harris, husband of Emmie Creason, and Jennie Harris, wife of Charlie Creason, were indeed brother and sister and the children of William and Mary B. Stevens Harris, then I have quite a bit of information on that side of the Harris/Creason family that I will be happy to share with you.

Do you know whether or not the John G. Creason that I mentioned above was the father of Charlie Creason?

I'll look forward to hearing from you and to sharing information with you if you think that my ideas about Harris-Creason family connections are correct.
Sharon your gedcom on the Sherrod line is marvelous! I have been in awe of it since I found it a few days ago. I hve talked with Natalie Williams by email and would love to talk to you by email or by phone. you can send me a personal email at percelld@bellsouth.net and your phone # and a time that will be convenient to talk uninterrupted. How did you get all that information. The only thing I had was the bible record on the Cresons and it was not very complete. I started searching in 1976 and have added more in the past 4 years than in all the other put together. Thanks to computers. I'd love to talk. I met your gma Effie and she was a jewel. Grandma Lela and her were very loving sisters. thx, cousin jan

My mother's father (my grandfather) was Clifford Cresong - his father was Emanuel Cresong - his father was Samuel Cresson and his before him Samuel - Nicolas Creson was Samuel's father.

It is possible that Nicolas Creson's father was Isaac Creson - we are still working on that one.... My mother's father did have a brother named Dan. My mother was born in Logan County West Virginia. Are we related?

I am searching for information regarding Nicolas Creson who had a son named Samuel Creson (my grandfather). I have a copy of Nicolas's and Samuel's will from Rowan Co NC. Children mentioned in Nicolas's will are: Samuel (gfather), Catherine, Mary, Eve, Sophia, Margaret and Philippine.

Samuel's I (my Gfather) children are: Michael, Samuel II (my gfather), John, Charles, ------also on the will PETER LYERLY, CHRISTIAN GOODMAN THREE CHILDREN AND ROSINA.

Wife of Samuel I was Sophia Brown

I am not sure why Peter Lyerly along with Christian Goodman, children and Rosina are listed on his will. I come down through Samuel II who married Sara Elizabeth Sexton, Emanuel Cresong to Clifford Cresong (notice spelling). My mother is Alice Cresong.

Would love any additional information that you may have to share!

I hope you get this since your series of messages is several years old. I have read over most of your messages concerning the Creson/Cresong family.

Julia McClellan was the sister of my husband's G-Grandfather William. One of William's daughters was Frances Idell. She was my husband's grandmother. Now I know where her middle name came from, she must have been named after Julia. After living in Wise CO, VA and then also in WV, Frances and her husband James Lawson, moved to Illinois in 1930. I have a picture of Julia and William's mother and would be happy to share a copy with you. The McClellan family are also descendants of the Lawson line before the marriage of James and Frances. Julia's grandmother was a Lawson by birth.

Carl Creson

Hello. I am looking for information on a Carl (or possibly James Carl) Creson. He is listed in the 1880 census for Logan, Butler, Kansas. His place of birth is listed as NC and the year as 1833. However I think it could be as early as 1829. I am trying to connect him to the other North Carolina Cresons I have found. My uncle descends from Carl's son James and I am trying to help him with his family tree. Does anyone have any information on Carl or his children:
James b. 1861 Illinois
Retty b. 1864 Illinois
Jessy(Josey) b. 1863 Illinois
Parilee b. 1863 Illinois
Tennie b. 1865 Illinois

Most of these Cresons ended up in Oregon where we are. I believe that James died in Kansas but the rest of the family migrated to Oregon. Mostly Hood River county but some did spread out.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Kim
dragonchev@netzero.com

Hi Marilyn,
Yes, I wanted to know if your Joshua was in Arkansas.
I also repiled to Natalie who had made a post to one of your replies to your orginal post.
When anyone makes a post that connects to your orginal post we all get them. I don't think Natalie ever answered me though.
I'm trying to find someone who connects to Mrs. Sallie/Sarah CREASON/CRESON who married Hiram Franklin "Frank" ROGERS in 1884 White Co, Arkansas
