I have tried to find information on the cottages, but so far no luck on that.. I would love to find a photo of them.. they must have been gone for years.

Looking for DOB for John Cresswell (my g-g-grandfather)- baptised 5 APR 1790 in St. Martin, Birmingham (C010727 and 1851 census) Parents shown as Thomas and Anne Cresswell on Baptism record. John died 5 APR 1867 in Clerkenwell Workhouse. Described as a Brass Founder. Where did he learn his trade? When did he leave Birmingham? Possible parents are Thomas 1761-1846, a Farmer at Newland St. Leonard, Worcs. and Ann Taylor b. about 1765 in Stratford on Avon.

I've never seen the book but found this website by Simon ? which is based on that book http://www.mrzsp.demon.co.uk/cress001.htm It details a Cresswell family tree. Personally I don't think that this has anything to do with the Denby, Derbys Cresswells from whom I am descended.
Like you, I've come to a brick wall with Joseph Cresswell, & all the Cresswell descendants I've spoken to online have hit the same brick wall.
If you do have a breakthrough I'd love to hear from you.

Sorry, can't help. I only have 1 marr for Enoch which was to Selina Schevington. His parents were Stephen Cresswell & Hannah Brough. Stephen was born c1873. His father was Joseph Cresswell but I have no other info re Joseph not even a date of birth.

I suggest you do a search in Family Search (http://familysearch.org)or BMD (http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl) It would be helpful to btain birth, marriage or death certificates for any/all of these people. Trying to find anyone who can trace their tree back too James Cresswell b;1808 in Protwood Stockport died 1888 in St Helens Lancs. On his second married gave his fathers name as Joel Cresswell soldier. No record of him in the parish register of Stockport. Does anyone have him in their family tree?

I think they are both buried at Dale Abbey Church.

Fam. tree information tells me that my grt. grt grandad was stephen cresswell from denby who wed hannah brough,I believe stephens father was joseph born 1751 {and think his mother was ann taylor but not sure}

I am still having problems finding any info on w. h. cresswell b abt. 1864 m. Florence G Barnes and had two boys w.h. (b. about 1890) and Percy (b. abt 1904) they lived in staffordshire and can find them on the 1901 census but my trail has gone cold since then.

Anyone with any info will be appreicated and will offer what i can to anyone who wants the info I have.

I have now traced my Cresswell family in Staffordshire back to 1851. They come from a family of iron moulders working in Bilston and a village called Pelsall and Gosgot in Staffordshire.

Hi. I`m Paul Cresswell and I`m trying to get information concerning `Cresswells or Crosswells`, from the Worcestershire and later, Warwickshire areas. My Gg/father was William Eden Wilson Cresswell, born 1854 in Warks, and lived in the village of Loxley, running for a short time, the village inn `The Fox`. I believe his father was named Charles and his mother Elizabeth (More). Wilson, as he was apparently known better as, married Sarah Ann Duffin in the Parish of Arrow, Warks,in 1881, and I also believe he may have had brothers, Oliver and Walter with a sister,Eliza. Henry Ebenezer Cresswell b 1986 Greenwich, d 1971 in Battle, East Sussex. Who married Louisa Martha Elsey (b.1899)in Greenwich.

Henrys father was Alfred Cresswell (1871) who married Lilian (unsure of surname).

Harriet and Frank Cresswell

Daughter of Henry(abt 1836) and Harriett (abt 1838) from Radford Nottingham. Sister of Ada, Alice, Arthur and Edwin.
Lived at 66 Ilkeston road Nottingham 1n 1901. I am trying to find out what hapend to Harriet she was born about 1878 and her son Frank Davis Cresswell who was born on the seventeenth of January 1900. Harriet was a lace Jennier at the time. I believe Frank use to drive the old Foden steam wagons at one time. Frank does not appear on the 1901 census so may have been adopted by relatives.
