Hi -- I realize it's now a couple of years since the above-proposed Crichlow family reunion, but I saw your post and thought contact you. =])

I'm looking for some help in rounding out the following families, and hopefully also in pushing the records back (or forward) farther along the respective lines...... =])

For the part most relevant re HENRY CRICHLOW and CHARLOTTE PIERREPONT, please skip to paragraph 9.

My 3rd great-grandmother, DEBORAH ELIZABETH PIERREPONT was born Sep 05, 1796, possibly in England, or perhaps in Barbados. I believe _CHARLOTTE PIERREPONT_ (found on LDS IGI) was a sister, and a THOMAS PIERREPONT (many on LDS IGI, but none yet connected) was their father. A miniature portrait of DEBORAH ELIZABETH as a young lady (about 14 or so), painted circa 1810, is in storage at the Barbados Museum, Bridgetown -- I was permitted to photograph it on a recent trip there. DEBORAH ELIZABETH may have died in Barbados, but I don't have a date or place of death/burial.

Family records further indicate that my 3rd great-grandfather, JOHN DALBY was born sometime between 1790 and 1810, likely in England. I have not yet determined his parents' names, nor whether he had siblings. Family records indicate that John died in Barbados on Dec 16, 1832.

JOHN DALBY married DEBORAH ELIZABETH PIERREPONT in St. Michael parish, Barbados on Feb. 20, 1829. This is the only definite record that the LDS IGI database has for either of them. (LDS misspells her last name as "Pierrepout", and there are _lots_ of John Dalby's, but none I can connect to my history with certainty.)

John and Deborah Elizabeth had a daughter, CHARLOTTE MARIA(H) DALBY - b.1833, d.1908 - and possibly a son, EDWARD DALBY b.abt.1834/1835, who died in early childhood. I don't know if there were more siblings but given the usual size of families in those days, it's likely.

CHARLOTTE MARIA(H) married my 2nd great-grandfather, WILLIAM CLARK HAYNES, at Guelph, (Ontario) Upper Canada on August 12, 1852. [There is an interesting bit of family lore surrounding this union -- a tale of marriage permission denied and eventually circumvented!] I have a photocopy of the original marriage certificate from St. George's Anglican Church in Guelph.

Witnesses to the marriage were Henry Crichlow and Charlotte Crichlow (probably the bride's maternal aunt, Charlotte Pierrepont as noted above). This couple and their family resided in the village of Fergus, Twp. of Nicoll, Canada West -- just north of Guelph where the wedding took place (also found them on the 1851 Census for Canada West).

After their marriage, William HAYNES and Charlotte (Dalby) HAYNES moved back to Barbados, and produced at least 4 children. Both William and Charlotte died on the island and are buried there. I have a fair amount of information on the subsequent generations of HAYNES and SEALE.

I have nothing further (yet) on Henry and Charlotte, and although this is likely a peripheral branch to my own family tree, I'd be interested in learning more....
