Dear Jamie Croarkin:
Hi! I'm Cathy and my husband, Paul Croken, is descended from a Bernard Croarkin in Dunraymond, County Monaghan, Ireland who had three sons -- two of those sons settled in Prince Edward Island. Because I was searching the Message Board under "Croarkin", I came across your message -- two years after you posted it -- but new to me. You ask about leukaemia and, yes, there is at least one case -- as recent as Christmas 2006 -- of leukaemia in a Croken relative of Paul's. There is also Hodgkin's Disease and strong diabetes suffering. Paul's side of the Crokens seem mostly to be subject to heart failure and high choloesterol problems. Robert Croken who was diagnosed this past Autumn with leukaemia is related twice to Paul -- through his mother and Paul's mother. Paul and Robert are directly connected via the same son of the original Bernard Croarkin.
I hope this finds you and everyone in your family well and happy. And, of course, I hope my information is of some value to you. By the age you mention in your message, it would appear you are about the same age as my youngest daughter, Kari. Look forward to hearing from you or your parents. Sincerely, Cathy Pfeifer-Croken
