Hello - my paternal grandmother was Margaret Crocie. Her father was Edward Blaze CROCIE. Marriage license from 1901 in NYC has him as Edward CROCE, father Peter Croce, mother Luigia Gnocchi. Born in Italy and came here in 1883 (I think). Edward married Anne Wilson. They had 8 children and lived in Elizabeth, NJ. Anne was widowed in 1922 at age 40 with 8 children (very hard life). Any one reading these messages know why the name is changed? Any relatives out there? Thanks!
