Hi -- I just now realized you had replied to my original email -- a year ago. I'm sorry to have missed it. I've tracked my Croci's to Joseph Croci, his wife was Julia Gazzola, they had Pietro Croci (b. 1845) who married Luglia Gnocchi. They had Edward, Oreste, Amelia, Gindetta (sp?), and Walter. Edward was my great grandfather. He was born in 1880 and died in 1920 in Elizabeth. Family lore has it that one of his son's (Victor) was a boxer and apparently died from a "fall" off the Staten Island Ferry. However, my dad said mob connections were in the famly and the story was covered up. Victor's sisters apparently ran around with Legs Diamond and Frank Sinatra. That's about all I know.
