Charles Hayes Crockett married Willie Patton Vandeventer 1 Sept 1896, and they had two children by May 1899. I have some details on that, including census information for Willie and her two children in 1910. They are from the Fayetteville, Arkansas area, although her father came to AR from Virginia.

She was born 13 Jan 1874 and died 13 June 1933. I found a wonderful picture of her online and became fascinated by her since she seemed to raise two children on her own (what happened to Charles Crockett??), and she became the head of the Public Speaking Department at Arkansas State University, where she was a member of the faculty for 25 years. She seems to be an independent woman well before her time. She would fit into today's times easily!

I would really like to find out who Charles Hayes Crockett's parents were, and how he fits into the Crockett genealogy lines. I am reserching Crocketts for my uncle, and I would like to find out if this family ties into his line. My uncle, also, was from Arkansas. If I knew who Charles Hayes Crockett's ancestors were, I could figure out how he ties in, if at all, with my uncle.
