Jefferson D[avis] Croff MO Source: Certificate of Death #29549
Father: Thomas Croff and Mother: Easter Todd

Source: History of Chariton and Howard Counties. Author Pearl Sims Gehrig published Topeka, KS, Historical Publishing Co., 1923.
Jefferson D. Croff was the "son of Henry Thomas and Esther (Todd) Croff."
J.D. Croff married Miss Elizabeth H. Woods in 1891. Elizabeth was the daughter of Adam and Nancy Roseberry Woods. There are errors in Gehrig's information on page 647 but the Croffs were parents of Adam, Georgianna (AKA Anna/Annie/Georgie), and a child who died in infancy.

Elizabeth Woods Croff died in 1897 and Croff married Anna Belle "Annie" Kunzler in 1904. They were the parents of
five children.

Hi,
I don't know if we're looking for the same Croff or not, but my gr gr grandfather was Henry T. Croff (Cropp on grave stone)was married to Easter Todd in 1862 in Chariton county. I have had trouble finding any info on these Croff's and it could be that Mary was related to Henry. They were from both Howard and Chariton counties.

My Mom has been thinking about you since Katrina hit and would like to say "hello." My parents tell me that I was with them when they visited you in Biloxi -- Mary, Larry, and me, Lisa. You can email me and I'll trade phone numbers with you, if I've found the right person.
Thanks,
Lisa

I am the great granddaughter of Sarah Clarissa Roberts, daughter to Levi Roberts and Elizabeth Lambert. Sarah had a brother, Jerome D. Roberts. ( I am almost positive of this relationship of brother and sister between Jerome and Sarah). I have read the history of Jerome and his travels to Alaska via the board here. Has anyone done any extensive work on Emma Croff and her family other than her brother was John George Croff? Barbara

Looking for information on Mrs. Myron Crofft who was living in Hisperia, Michigan in December, 1946, according to the obituary of her sister, May Bell Davis of Port Huron, Michigan. I do not know Mrs. Myron Crofft's first name or if the spelling of her last name in the obit. is correct. May Bell's mother's maiden name was Alice Mary Mudge, and I have evidence that she had been married to a Grace, a Doty, a Sutton, and a Cannon. I do not know who might have been the father of Crofft. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Blackfeet Genealogy

I have been indexing Blackfeet names and have a lot of information on the descendants of William Cowee and Julia Ann Boughey CROFF family. I usually try to track down the family Indian name, English name, their Tribal Identification number and breakdown of their Blood Quantum. You can find me in the Polson,Montana telephone book. I am connected to PABLO and OTTER WOMAN, whose son,Michel Pablo married one of my relatives on the Flathead, and therefore I have quite a bit of information on the descendants of PABLO and OTTER WOMAN. My Blackfeet ancestry comes through LONE SPEECH and SARVIS BERRY WOMAN, whose daughter, Therese Killed-In-The-Lodge, married Louie Matt,Sr. Louie might be connected to the Fort Belknap through Cyprian Matte, and I'm working on another Matte branch, Joseph Matte, of the State of Oregon. I have some 28,000 relatives on my computer, mostly of the Flathead Nation, and I have eight rolls of microfilm on my people that can be borrowed through the Family History Library of Salt Lake City. I have reconstructed many Blackfeet names from the 1885-1940 Blackfeet Censuses, which also can be borrowed from Salt Lake Family History Library and from two books: BLACKFEET HERITAGE,1907-1908 and 1998 BLACKFEET GENEALOGY, GIFTS, AND TREASURES. Hope to hear from you. I have been Native American Genealogy for 24 years and as a Traditional Dancer, I list myself as Pend d'Oreille/Blackfeet.
